This was very informational. I don't really like watercolors just cuz i mix up these two processes when I'm actually painting. But you explained this really well. Makes me want to try water colours again.

Wow, I was taught (years ago) once you have image on the paper. Using a wide soft brush and wet the entire sheet. Working vertically and horizontally with the wide brush pushing the water around. Until the paper has soaked up the water and is now suble, and soft, but not dripping wet. Then pull the corners and tack them down again to get the paper as flat as you can. Now can start painting. Then each time I return to paint another section of the painting wet the area and allow the paper to absorb the moister before starting to paint. Do you have a video series for painting? Maybe here on KZbin? Or maybe a step by step book? I would love to teach myself to paint again. Also any suggestion on brushes would be amazing

Honestly, I’ve always thought that water painting looks terrible, but I guess I keep getting people that paints terrible. Yours is really cool to look at. I’m more into realistic and comics. Seeing your stuff makes so much better sense. I guess other people just get expensive Daniel Smith and stuff, lay down paint, and call it good no matter what others opinions and critiques are. I thank you for opening my eyes to actual techniques. I think a may try this myself because of you 🙏
