My thoughts, too. Would be great if the new owners, who are obviously upper middleclass or even rich, would support the original owners. By buying them a monthly grocery haul or something. Clothes or whatever is really needed. I have a workmate who recently adopted my mom's old small dog. I could not take that little one because I already have 2big dogs. So, every time I see something that might be a nice surprise for her, I bought it, since she don't accept money for food or medical treatment for the little one. For example a tree of life candleholder, fancy packed seeds for a bees garden, stuff like that.😉

@@tanjak72 I know, it's so sad that they were able to surrender their little dog to a place where he'd have all the food he needs for the rest of his life, but they still live where they have to make imossible choices about who gets to eat. Their kids need a dog too, a happy healthy dog with enough food, and for them to not to have to go hungry to give it to him. It's so gut wrenching. I guess you can only do what you can, and at least they could give them the peace of mind that the dog is okay now.

Thank you to all for helping this little dog, it must have cost a fortune. Lack of funds - being without doesn't mean lack of love. I've been there myself and had to ask for help for a pet from family. Thankfully it wasn't as bad as this but it was very difficult. My pets were fed first but poverty is not a character defect, it just happens sometimes. And being poor materially doesn't mean poor in affection or care.
