Malshi Touch Sensitivity - Our Malshi Dog loves cuddles. She wants to be held, to be patted, and to get scratches.

My malshi is like velcro!! He loves all of the family but I'm disabled and we're together ALL THE TIME! when I do leave the house he's usually with me. But in rare cases I have to leave him the separation anxiety is REAL. He will sniff through the grocery bags too. He knows if I go out I bring him back a toy or a treat or something! 😁

Yes! Same here, Wookie somehow knows if you have dog food in one of many shopping bags. I make the point of showing her what I've bought her, and tell her "this is for WookiDog". She seems to really like it lol

I have a Malshi too. Is the best dog ever (Mojito). The fact that they dont shed is the best. He is pretty much as described on the video. Fearless and playful all the time, demands lots of attention and love to sleep with us in bed. I regret my Ring door bell. He alerts me first all the time, before Alexa does, hahahaha. Over all I would recommend a Malshi to everyone.

He has brought so much joy into our lives. Just watching him makes us smile. The thing that still amazes me is the expressions and body language he uses. He snorts in disgust, turns his back on us when he doesn't get his way, and refuses to look at you until you wheedle your way back into his good books. He never gets upset or angry. Just makes it very clear that he is disappointed in you. It is also a real joy to watch him running free at full pelt. He is very fast, agile and thinks he can jump tall buildings in a single bound. On top of this when I have days when I am stuck in bed, he lays on my bed and is content to snooze on and off with generous cuddles in between. Has favourite stuffed toys, my old slippers and various pull toys, which he will bring to you when he wants to play (or attention lol).

I have a Malshi puppy...his name is Noah and he is 15 weeks old. You forget how much work a new puppy is...he was a few days shy of 8 weeks when when got him. He picked up basic commands quickly but when in a state of toy overload, he does as he pleases. He is sweet as can be. Now that his teeth are in its getting better for our fingers and toes. 😅 We had a beautiful Maltese her name was Mojo as well as a Bischon Poo his name was Lucky...they reside now at the Rainbow bridge. My new puppy looks like both of my previous dogs, whom we loved so much. Noah has lessened the pain of the loss of our Bischon this past July 28th. All animals are precious but dogs rule❤

They are honest, very loyal, they protect the family akways, they are very sweet, the best dog you can have, really! I love them very much!!!!!

I just got a Malshi puppy named Buddy, born on 23rd December 2020. My previous Malshi's Lola & Scruffy were adopted when they were 2 + so Buddy is my first puppy. He is such a cute bundle of joy, my nickname for him is "Fluff Ball" haha. His temperament is similar to our first one Scruffy I reckon, less boisterous than Lola our second one. Anyways I appreciate your videos, keep them coming please 😀

@@MalshiDog Yeah I'll treasure him 😀 Actually got him yesterday. My other dog Lola, almost 13, we had to say goodbye to the day before. She had lung cancer, a tumour, and rapidly declined. Her cancer wasn't treatable. That empiness was too much after she was gone. Might say "too soon" but for us it's felt right getting Buddy. It's not just me but my parents as well. Buddy is a great addition, so happy to have him, has a lovely temperament, and when I think of Lola he helps me feel warm inside again.

we have a year old malshi and she is so loving our only problem is that she plays to rough with the 9 &10 year old morkies so her and the male morkie will get into a tiff dont know how to stopr this any suggestion have tried time outs dont work she loves the crate lol

I don't know, Wookie is the only dog in the house. The only idea I can think of is playing a bit rough with her and trying to teach her that she's not allowed to bite hard. We played a game with Wookie when she was young in that she was allowed to bite our hands. If she did it hard we overreacted and showed pain: ouch ouch, whimpering. She'd step back and then lick the hand to say sorry. Maybe if you teach her that biting can be done in games but only softly.... Could be a bad idea lol

That is a mix lol If possible try to spend some time around the parents, check to make sure they don't have breathing problems. I just don't know if the mix would have a short snout/nose. Sit around with the puppies, they will show signs of their temperament. I was told to sit and wait for a puppy to come to you for attention. My first dog did that and was lovely. When we did this with our Wookie as a pup she was just running around trying to play with things lol

Yes we have a male Malshi called Reacher. He is 18 mths old and has all of Wookies traits, and everyone he meets loves him, and he loves them back.

As Wookie gets older we are starting to notice that she very strong Terrier traits. She always wants to lead us on walks, she knows how to behave but will only heal if she believes we are super angry at her. She knows how to heal, does it perfectly but only when I'm walking her. Wookie has also decided that chasing lizards around the yard is super high priority along with chasing off any birds that land in the backyard.

@@MalshiDog Are you sure you haven't got my Reacher? Was only saying today that if it wasn't for his barking he would be the perfect dog. He will bark at any bird who has the audacity to land on anything within the yard, large tree excepted, UNLESS they dare to whistle or warble what he interprets as an 'up yours'. In that situation he comes rnunning into the house at full bark demanding any adult present go outside to see what he has to put up with. He leads me on walks, choosing if we take left or right as we step out the gate. I am occasionally the full alpha and be insistent. Ofcourse he stops every minute loudly sighing as he looks back in the direction he preferred. That said when we go to somewhere he can be safely let of the leash, his joy knows no bounds and the beauty of that freedom running full pace towards you, ears flowing and tongue dancing erases every tantrum, sulk, theft and sheer obstinance from your mind. He is the one thing in our life at this time that gives us true love, regardless of how much we annoy him.

@@soozu2 Yes! When Wookie is off the leash she loves to prove how speedy she is by running towards you at full speed. The one really funny behavior i've mentioned before is that she loves to copy other dogs. If she's one running and jumping then she'll give that a try lol

I’d say my malshi (female 2yo) has zero negative traits, maybe except prey drive. She is highly driven and will chase, but then again that’s something I have been nurturing during traing, as a reward. But she is super loving, bold and level headed, and a competetive obedience dog, full package! + the cutest dog I ever saw.🥰

I have a 11 week old Malshi Pup named Heidi. I think she is very sweet and smart. I would appreciate any advice on training. I am not giving treats as rewards, just lots of praise and love. She has learned sit and doing well on come. We go outside a lot during the day. I am 68 with arthritis and pain issues so I am very tired in the evening. I need a companion pet as part of my therapy in dealing with pain. So, when I try to settle us on the couch in the evening she begins jumping at me, biting at me and my clothes and does not respond to No. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated❤️

Hello Karen. At that age they are full of energy and love to bite. When Wookie was young, if we were playing and she bit us we would over dramatize the pain. Make a pain noise and whimper. It might take a while for Heidi to understand not biting. The other suggestion is to keep something near in the evening that she can chew on, at that age they'd be desperate to play, get attention, and chew. You could look up potty training cages. Maybe if you need time out from the crazy puppy that could be an option until she is a bit older.

@@MalshiDog Thank you, yes my Heidi has several toys and sleeps with the toy her breeder gave us. I have to say she is a great sleeper. No crying at night, sleeps a long time and takes regular naps. I read that having a routine is very good for a little puppy for potty training etc. Years ago we had Pomeranians and I don’t remember such intense biting, just lots of licking. Anyway, I think Heidi is starting to understand No Bite…It’s a work in progress lol.

I have a male and he is so like rookie however he is fussy about food and treats. Loves something but turns his nose up at next time. Wants to taste everything we eat. My problem is the desperation anxiety. He is like wookie in that he has learnt to accept being one parent short for a couple of hours, but I have to go on away for five days next month and we are very worried about our boy. Other adult in house is unwell and worried he won't cope, so placing him with a dog kennel facility has been suggested. Desperation security will no doubt go through the roof but interaction with other dogs could help him socially. The people are well trained,but I am stressing already, but cannot get out of trip. Suggestions?

@Suzanne Walding If we go away Wookie is upset at home for a day but we've been told she settles down and just waits for us. Unhappy but she doesnt get worse with time. When we go away even for a day we tell her to stay, and that we will be back and then also to the person staying with her. This routine seems to have helped but we do it every time we leave and its been like that for years.

A loving owner does not have to sterilize his pets because his/her care is so good that mating is not allowed. Sterilization is against nature, it's very painful, deprives the body of needed physiology, hormones, deprives the body of a natural way of cleansing itself and accelerated aging, also causes psychological changes that are unnatural. Dogs were since thousands of years humanity's friends around the world, among all the other animals. Within the last decades, in literature, within scientific circles, among artists and also among common folks - dogs are being treated as best friends and loved the most. Some even have their dogs put down for this. That's why many dogs that suffer, because they cannot relieve themselves at home, and suffer pains, have difficulties with breathing, and increasing ailments - can sometimes vandalize things at home, are restless, howl, cry or lie and cannot move. A doggie toilet can also be a canalized shower tray/shower base. Dogs should never use a human toilet, because it is dangerous for them, not only difficult. Respect all Dog's needs 🐕🐾❤️💕💞 Remember that a dog feels like a person - suffering, pain, the need to relieve itself, it needs to go out and get fresh air and movement. It needs to be able to move at home and outside, and be safe. People are responsible for their safety. A dog must have drink as much clean water, as it needs. A dog cannot eat only food that is made specifically for dogs, especially low quality, because it will get very sick. No irradiated foods. Avoid artificial preservatives, flavoring, colorants. A dog owner eats more than one meal per day, and they are balanced for nutrition and taste. Everyone needs a balanced diet for health and taste, no one can withstand the same kind of food, all the time, which not only is disgusting, but also causes ailments. The dog is forced to eat what it is given by its owner, but it should be able to always pick, to always have a choice of variety. Love dogs, because they deserve it. Take care of them very well. Remember, that dogs are dogs, that they have their specific needs and their ways of being, of their species. Since hundreds of thousands of years, people all around the world, treated Dogs as their best friends and dearest household members. Never use dogs for sex, it must be forbidden. Scientists talk about growing meat on shelves (production for testing purposes has successfully begun) - of many animals - which would be the best for our world today, because there won't be animal killing, which is barbarian and very painful. This would be most humane. The world needs such technology, which would be not only most humane but also ecological. 🐕🐾 🌷🌷🌷 People who rescue dogs and other animals are really great.
