So sad. Just been to security to ask if me and my mum could go see around of whats left. He said yes and was so kind he said one day he would give us a guided tour around the site. So fun looking at abandonded wages office, pit tip, control room, baths and more!

Worked here from 2010 to 2014 on’t plant in and around the Beer Tent owt back when ‘ickeys were running spoil about for screening. Good cheap canteen and a cracking chippy up the road. All good things come to an end.

Many many hard workers lost there jobs thanks not Maggie your big 6 are racking it in now at our expense. Harworth mentioned in the clip worked on that the new CCP Plant built 1987/8 - and the Piper Alpha Disaster happened RIP many Construction Workers and Miners tipped most of that weeks wages up to the Cause for the Piper Alpha Families.

Scargill killed the coal industry in the uk with Endless strikes and holding the country to ransom for what, no one is responsible but him, i remember the winter of discontent in the 70's strike after strike by low skilled workers holding the country to ransome, it's over now.

People never think what if trade with China is cut? You know if that happens something is terribly wrong in SE Asia so how will you get goods from Vietnam or Taiwan or even South Korea? I guess it is the age old, we'll deal with it when we get there. Oh look, no imports from SE Asia? We need tools and appliances? We need coal first, now where do we get coal from? I don't know, there used to be mines but they are all gone now.... *Shocking face*
