Great video! When it started I thought, you’re in for a shock! We were up there early August & cars were parked illegally everywhere most days we drove through it was horrendous. Like you, we try to avoid the crowds but as we were camping close by, coming through Sparrowpit was a necessity. X

Ticking the tops off the list - even if they're the popular ones. Roesberry Topping is the same in the North Yorks Moors - we saw loads of folk tackling that in January when we did it - most in trainers and with the mud it wasn't easy going in walking boots.

Lots of people about, but it’s a popular spot isn’t it 😅 it was one of my first ones I wanted to and did tick off in the Peak District. Usually with the popular routes I do them once just to tick them off otherwise I prefer quieter walks 😊

Mam Tor 😂😂😂 great idea to count them! Id say 70. 6 it’s mounting up! 19 is low but at 8:30 I’m not surprised! Yeah Roseberry Topping always has a few, but I’ve not ventured up that early. It’s a wonderful walk mind, no wonder it’s so busy! Yay Peak 55, Bak Tor. Loved your contour video. I bet you will loose count reversing the route at that time. It’s definitely a walk that deserves such popularity. Great idea 👍1000, I can believe it!

You will be right 1000 people on Mam Tor - not really a surprise. Convinced it is the TikTok effect. Last time I was there it was much quieter but that was.early morning in autumn, and misty. Like you - never again in summer with the crowds. Great video. Thanks

I thought you'd see 250! It's a nice easy scenic route, that's why it pulls the crowds isn't it. I don't think it helps that these magazines and websites advertise it as 'Britain's top 10 walks' and stuff like that, certainly gets it swarming! One of the main reasons I have never done this walk and to be honest, cannot ever see me doing it, just far too many people there for me, I need peace, quiet and solitude on a walk, don't mind a few people, enjoy talking to people I bump into but man the amount of people there would destroy it for me, cheers Alan

Still not as many folk up there that were on Llandudno Pier tonight...The Peak District is my home and it is not rocket science to prove that Mam Tor is one of the most busiest places here...I have no problem that people want to visit...you know yourself that there are just as many other most beautiful places to visit without the crowds...They go there because they love it...what I do have issue with is the blatant disrespect of the area by litter louts and ignorance by folk who just want to say yes I have been there...I really do not mind that the place is so busy and good on them for deciding to visit...if we choose to visit these places then why not?...if you want solitude then you know exactly where those places are...not entirely sure I enjoyed your perspective on the subject but interesting none the less...Cheers Les 🙂👍

Just putting on those ' rose tinted spectacles ' again... Back to the mid 60's, and our School outward bound trips... Peak district in 1968... Could count the number of walkers along the Ridge on one hand.... That's progress for you, I presume ...?

I’m exactly the same as you Steve. I really don’t enjoy the packed routes. In the way to Pen y fan you see thousands of cars along the roads and a constant stream from morning till night 🙄 Your spot on about that kid - what chance do they have if the parents are like that 🤷🏻‍♂️
