Before modern sterilization methods for female animals (males were always easy), drowning unwanted puppies was just... what people did in ancient societies to control dog populations, if they couldn't afford to feed more mouths, as free-roaming feral dogs are potentially dangerous. It's an evil, inhumane, and irresponsible practice in the modern world, but when we get these windows into regions that are less developed, I sometimes understand that that's all that they have available to them in terms of population control, and I am grateful when people with more resources can step in to just sterilize the dog and make such primitive population control measures unnecessary. That said, this a 10 pound dog on a chain guarding an abandoned house. WTF. This is just all kinds of wrong on so many levels.

All they had to do was wait a few months and then find them homes or give them to a shelter that can adopt them out. They were already caring for the other one and mom was doing the feeding so it would have been little effort on their part. Pure laziness and lack of conscience.

It is a common habit with breeders who end up with imperfect puppies. If they adopt out the imperfect ones (some do as "pet quality" and must be spayed), there is less of a market for the show quality at thousands of dollars. Go to your local Dog Shelter and save a frightened dog who needs a family.

My dog was a pregnant street dog when she was rescued and she really is the calmest, quietest, sweetest and most well behaved Chihuahua you'll ever meet! I think dogs that have had it rough are often the best and most chill dogs once given proper care, love and safety. They know how good they have it because they know how bad things can be, so they show their appreciation in remarkable ways.

Sometimes Olena does give updates when the dogs are adopted very quickly, before she is done editing and posting the video. But I think she is more concerned with rescuing the animals and getting them in good homes than she is telling everyone what happens afterward.

Normally, I don’t advocate for stealing dogs from bad owners-I don’t want to escalate or cause escalation-but drowning her puppies & her fear of that trauma broke me. How awful; I can’t even imagine the loss she must have felt. Thank you for rescuing her❤

Omg... really!? So, you condone animals being left in an environment where they are neglected, abused and tortured? Any animal in that environment needs to be removed immediately! Olena, how wonderful it must feel to have so many of those bright eyes-belonging to precious, furry creatures-constantly looking up at you with gratitude and love for saving them. I hope that you and your group sleep well at night knowing that you are saving so many of all those innocent little animal lives who are caught up in the war zone. People around the world are watching what you are doing for these small, innocent creatures-amidst the horrors of war-and you are a very needed reminder that not all humankind is evil and that there is still hope for humanity.
