Honestly Kim I'm so glad you are taking the time with momma recovery. I feel in America the obgyns never really prepare you for what your body is about to go through. Even vaginally birth require healing. It's ok not to be ok! You body did a lot of work to bring a whole human being out to the world. Congratulate yourself and FORGIVE yourself if you just need a break. Take care of yourself and Listen. When I had my now 4 year old I was dealing with major anxiety and didn't sleep for over a week. I had high blood pressure and try to explain to my doctors how I was feeling. I'm overweight so naturally I am always ignored with my concerns and I ended up in the ER with 170/90 BP. My left side was going numb. My body couldn't take the stress of breast feeding. I had to change to formula. I tried! Boy did I try! I had to listen to everyone and decided on formula. His mom is alive because I listened. To all the new coming mothers please don't feel any shame, there is no perfect way, or mother. The best mother is an alive one. Listen to your instints and don't let people gaslight you. This is a passion of mine since I had my child I saw what really happens with after care. Mommas you are goddess!! Remember that!

That was fun to see all the things they have for babies and moma care. I'm a little out of the loop with a 28 year old lol. Things I would have liked, a wipe warmer, snap in and snap out car seat/stroller system, a bedside cradle that attaches to the bed and is open on the side so you can reach in from the bed. Baby bath tub that collapses for storage would have been cool, I used a plastic one till son was 3 months and then just gave up and used my well cleaned kitchen sink and towels dedicated for bottom cushioning lol. Forced me to keep my kitchen sink clear and clean. I had a baby sling and you are right, baby just wants to be with you, carried him everywhere all day. Fun day!

Oh Kimberly! I loved this video showing all of the new, cool and costly baby goodies. I’m 66 and had my little girl 36 years ago. My Granny Jones had enough “green” stamps that allowed me to go to the green stamp store in Lakeland, Florida to order my entire nursery setup. Lol when I had my 1 and only sonogram, my baby wouldn’t uncross the legs so we didn’t know what my baby was going to be. I went with primary colors and frogs 🐸. It was a thing and so cute! Baby turned out to be a precious girl and the primary colored frog theme was great! I don’t know if I could’ve figured out what to choose because of all the choices, wowzer! Love you and can’t wait to see what your choices will be. Be Blessed

You can make your own pads for after baby. Partially unwrap a few pads at a time, but don't detach the wrapper. Spread aloe vera generously up and down the whole pad, add Witch hazel, Add a few drops of lavender oil. Fold the pads back up to how they were and stick them in a gallon sized plastic bag, then freeze.

Wow! it's amazing to see all these products! My kiddos are 18 /14. I had 2 c-sections. I would have loved to have had those after tools to help me in the healing process. especially after our daughter was born. our son had just been diagnosed with a brain tumor and he started radiation treatment 2 weeks after I had my daughter! I had to be able to move! I just did it! mom mode in full level man! sometimes I feel like I haven't recovered from that time in our life. lol Our son is great and has been in remission since 2012. We just moved him to college 😭 so now I'm going through adjusting him not being home. Our daughter is in 8th grade and excited that she will start high school next yr! Life is good and we are blessed. I would love to see what once Upon a child has or if you found anything. I loved that store when my 2 were little. 😉🎉

Funny story. Back in the day had to leave my baby with my mom while my three year old had surgery. I worried because we lived out of state and did not have a lot of stuff with us. I came home to baby propped up in wicker laundry basket with pillow. For a rattle she took canning rings and tie wrapped them and since it was hot the baby had a cabbage leaf on his head. My son loved it and my mom was a genius. You really can raise a child with less.

For our babies we got one of those fancy pants pack and plays with multiple levels and a changer on it. We used that until they were too big and needed a bed...then put them in a twin bed with rails. I am still in awe at the amount of baby products that are out there now. It is crazy.

I loved the blooming bath! you can put it in the washing machine! No issues with mold or smells or anything! I think the cozy soft sides makes them more cozy and secure.

I actually bought a wipes warmer for my younger two! My oldest, they didn't have that...and I would definitely have purchased it. There were a lot of things they didn't have when she was born, but my youngest two...cool things. I just got the basics. I wish Frida and Fridababy brand had been around then. The one thing I should have purchased thinking back was a Medela breast pump, I had a manual Avent which worked great but I was so engorged with my last (he was in the nicu for a week) and a manual pump didn't cut it. If you can invest in a good breast pump do it....any good brand. Kim, I know you have one you like already. I wish the postpartum kit was around when I had my oldest!!

the kneeler pad. could use dollar store garden kneeling pad. I personally wanted to get away from kneeling at all, ouch. I used our squatty potty step to sit on and then had a flash of brilliance and brought in one of her little chairs. twas a game changer, just a bit late in the game!
