Great to hear about SJ Care Warrior. I've been living alone overseas for a while and I have pretty bad depression. It can be difficult to find someone to talk to these days so I usually just keep it to myself. Glad to see Malaysians are taking mental health issues seriously and hopefully more people will listen to your podcast and know its normal to seek help for mental health issues.

Nowadays public still see someone who had been referring/going to psychiatry clinic as crazy person, which causes those with mental health issue defer their treaments and causing more and more negative impacts to their lives. Glad that this episodes of mamak sessions talked about mental health and reassure people that it is okay to get help from doctor 😁

So glad that a topic like mental health is finally being talked about. Sometimes these issues are just being pushed under the surface and people simply tells you to ‘get over it’ or ‘its just stupid thoughts’ ‘stay strong’. Sometimes we ought to recognize signs of someone’s mental health is deteriorating and take some time to care/listen to them although we may not understand it fully. I always post about mental health on my IG stories but so far nobody in my social circle seem to care that much? Though i have a fair share of sharing some problems on IG, but thanks for sharing your opinion about it!

I've been waiting to listen about mental health due to my psychology background, but I'm not sure why it's hard to listen to this podcast in one seating. Probably due to been diagnosed with mental illness due to many triggers occurred since I was 16 years old. Throughout listening this, it reminded me on how my dad reacted when he knew about my diagnosis which he keeps saying I'm "sakit mental/gila" and can't accept it. I wish other individuals with mental health issues does not go through this. I would love to volunteer with the organisation during my free time. Thanks guys for talking about mental health.

Can I know how did you share your health issue with your family or when did you decide to tell them? I have a friend who is very reluctant to break the issue to his family despite being diagnosed with mental illness. I do not know how to help him as I have been scolded by him for telling his family.

Ive had 2 close friends commit suicide. Both cases taught me to be better aware of ppl's mental state ard me esp when it comes to symptoms and also dealing with people bombarding me with questions abt what/why/how they did it. If i was in kl id def volunteer for sj care! But its great that people talk abt it more now bcos it brings the awareness level up. Good job and pls keep using real topics like these more!

Few reasons why depression is often undetectable, 1. When someone famous dies, people were offering help all over. a month later, they'll be like 'get rid of negative people around you', 'hashtag positive mind'. People get help from the wrong person. 2. Imagine someone with cancer or amputated, people can't offer any help so they look at them with sympathy, when we just want to be treated as normal people. I'd rather you not knowing I have depression, since I know people can't help me anyway. 3. Just like Alzheimer, depression is a 'rich people sickness', students can't afford to get help. We do not have time to queue and get help. How do you ask your parents for help, when the problem came from them? 4. Pills have side effect such as unable to perform in bed. Ejaculation releases happy hormones. Do you want to be happy, or do you want to have sex? In addition, unethical doctors will just prescribe medication no matter whether the patient truly needs them. Unless you can solve these problems, you can't get people to reach for help, since we buried our problems and already chose not to show it. When the time comes, we'll just let it go. Depression is a silent killer.

Seeking help means you have to engage professionals or doctors. Which might not be available at where you live, and will cost a lot of money. So, for those who are depressed, lived outside of big cities and don't have expendable income, they are really out of luck. Suicide hotline can only help to a certain extent. Insurance doesn't cover mental illness. So, really really out of luck.

stress! is definitely the no 1 killer for both physically and mentally!!! I wish we all know that we do not lose anything in life! If it doesn't work / if you do not get what you want/ did not get to your expectations....please do know that it is extremely ok. Always be grateful for what you have... because there are people who may not be as fortunate as you. However, if you ever do go through stress! feel free to let it out.

I think the title of each video must be thought carefully. What in this video and previous vids want to portray is the process... Mental health and depression. Committing suicide is the final product. So we can change that. Sometimes I will share the vids to my friends but the title is just not good enough. Like, if I share this video, it's like...hey, you might be committing suicide soon, etc. Not the right first approach. I know it's a podcast video, hopefully next few videos will have better titles. Always watch your videos, love it

I feel for those that are suffering mentally, i am still experiencing existential crisis almost once every week, which is very often. I dont really seem to find my life to be worth of anything, thats why i tend to please others with helping them and try to find some validation or "worth" in them. Though, i know that that is not right, but i couldnt help myself. And another thing is.. i would like to sign myself up as a volunteer to help people suffering in mental illness as i feel for them. I know this may be quite late knowing that this podcast episode is already few months old, i do hope someone is able to tell me where can i sign myself up?
