As a Moomoo since their debut, I would say they’re a all rounder girl group, besides they produce their songs, choreographies and many things, also I would say they’re very humble and down to earth idols, I think their fandom is one of the fewest people that are non toxic, truly talented and self-made idols.

I've watched these guides for a hundred times... but its still nice to watch them again with new reactors! MAMAMOO is that group which are artists first before idols! They are really perfectionists in their music!

Mamamoo is having USA concert tour in May, now is a chance since they seldom go international to hold the concert. We have been waiting long since their company consider small and have budget, that’s why they become famous late since they debut since 2014. It was moomoo always help to promote them well

Thanks for the comment! I really wish I could go, but the closest concert to me is in Oakland, and the flight, concert ticket, and hotel stay is just not possible for me right now. I am just going to have to watch as many live performance videos as a substitute and hope they come back to the US soon.

Mamamoo is unique coz they are a family, their bound is another reason to their success. They do whatever they like as a group in music/performance and in personal life and will fight for what they believe. Not much group can do this. They have many iconic stages for example, bring gender fluid dancer and solar pole dancing in music award shows. happy and enjoy the MMM journey with you !!

Haha Hwasa is my bias too 😂♥️ Actually she's my ultimate, in whole of kpop, she's literally the only person I watch from kpop besides Jessi Everything about her is unique & so mesmerizing I suggest you to react to her solos & collabs cuz they're legit bops And every solo song of hers has such deep meaning & references in it cuz Hwasa loves to do Wordplay so literally almost every line has like 3-4 hidden references & multiple meanings She's a brilliant artist with bops like Maria, Twit, Don't (with Loco), I'm a B, Dont Touch me (The Refund sisters) , etc. & Many many more

Hwasa is the prime target for haters but Mamamoo has never fit into kpop standards regarding beauty, fashion, gender, sexuality or proper behavior by female idols and consequently they've always been one of kpop's biggest shit magnets. I'm sure you've noticed that the members selected for girl groups tend to be young, skinny, light skinned and girlishly cute so of course Hwasa stood out as different and it's a credit to RBW that they signed her based on her vocal talent. Hopefully Mamamoo's success has helped to expand the opportunities for other talented women who are outside kpop's norm.

Maybe it is a US thing or a me thing, but Hwasa is hot. Her vocal talent is through the roof, and her sass slays. It is just hard for me to comprehend Korean beauty standards.

@@seattleinsomnia Being an old fart I'm not their target audience but to me most girl groups look like anorexic teenagers and some are presented in a way that smacks of Lolita-esque sexploitation. I think kpop's beauty standards are unhealthy, unrealistic and a horrible example for young women. If that's a US thing then so be it.

Nothing wrong with having more than one ult group, especially when the groups are so talented. From 2009 my one and only ult group was 2NE1 until 2016 when they were unfairly disbanded by YG in order to debut Blackpink. Mamamoo became my second ult group when I discovered them on Immortal Songs 2. Then I found Red Velvet, followed by Dreamcatcher and finally Purple Kiss. Now I have five ult groups.

​@@seattleinsomnia 2NE1 were another group that were debuted with the 'talent over looks' concept like Mamamoo. I think this is part of the reason a lot of Blackjacks became Moomoos. And like Mamamoo, the public never let them forget it. They are still harassed about their looks now...especially Bom. When YG debuted Blackpink, he made a comment about wanting to debut a group like 2NE1 "but pretty". This left a sour taste in a lot of people's mouths. Obviously this has nothing to do with the BP girls themselves who are amazing! It's just sad that the company felt like it had to bring down one of its own groups (who paved the way for girl crush concepts in kpop btw) to promote the other.

It's nice to see another Insomnia enjoying Mamamoo. I was a Moo Moo first but got into Dreamcatcher about two years later and love both groups so much. I don't know how much you know about Minx but they debuted in the same year as Mamamoo! They were performing at a lot of the same events back then and though they're rare there are a few pictures of the groups together. 🥰 Dreamcatcher actually guested on Moonbyul's show, Studio Moon Night, 3 times and each time it was hilarious and cute. Mamamoo and Dreamcatcher actually came back on the same day with Illella and Vision but there were no visible interactions because Mamamoo always leaves as soon as possible while Dreamcatcher greets everyone they know. Being a MooSomnia can be very painful sometimes! 😂

Yes, I am familiar with Minx, and I can appreciate the hard work, knowing how hard they worked what they went through and the dedication to going through a redebut put them through. Their story, along with their talent, is what made me fall hard for DC. Learning about Mamamoo's kinda similar story and their talent. I have fallen for them now.

You can have more than 1 ult group. 😊😊 For me, my 2 ult groups are Mamamoo and Exo, but I also enjoy Red Velvet, KARD, Stray Kids, SHINee, Super Junior. Mamamoo is just one of those groups that really cannot be compared, for me at least. Their vocals, rap and performances are just a different style then what is normally seen in kpop. They have a more mature vibe. I listened to the other girl groups you mentioned but they were not my cup of tea (not saying they were bad though because they are not.)I haven't checked out Dreamcatcher so I'll have to listen to them, I heard good things about them. Looking forward to more Mamamoo reactions.

Their performances (dancing) are equally amazing, and I have been blown away with everything I have seen. There will be more Mamamoo, unit and Solo, reactions coming for sure. For me my ultimate groups are BlackPink and Mamamoo. I also follow Twice, Big Bang, Billlie, Jessi and I think Baby Monster might be the next group I follow, since I already do with their Last Evaluation episodes. I listen to alot of kpop, but I only really follow those I mentioned, because I didn't want to get drowned in kpop. If that makes sense. Lol

@bishopman2308 BP was my intro to Kpop, and I will always love them. I found XG from watching OG Kpop Stan dance reaction and then saw she had a Dreamcatcher reaction and decided to check them out myself before watching the reaction and instantly stanned them. And the rest you can see from all my reactions, lol. I have seen a few of the predebut solo stuff of Baby Monster, and they seem like they have a lot of potential, but I haven't followed anything recently or even know if they have officially announced the members yet. Right now, my top 4 are Mamamoo, Dreamcatcher, XG, and BP. There are a couple of groups that I am going to dig deeper into, Purple Kiss, Billlie, Pink Fantasy, Oneus, Pixy, and Craxy. I have also really enjoyed discovering Krock.

@@seattleinsomnia I also watch OG Kpop Stan's reactions. Lol BlackPink was also what got me into kpop. I was in the hospital for 2 months with a infection and I watched BlackPink House & 24/365 to get to know the girls, then I watched their MV's and I was hooked. I love how all four members have their own unique sound. In the last episode of Baby Monster Last Evaluation, YG said that they will announce the final line up for the group on May 12th (May 11th for us in the States) and people are saying they could debut in June. What did you think of BlackPink's song The Happiest Girl? For me it is their most emotional song from how they sing it, but I still can't stop listening to it or watching people's reactions to it.

I hear this is a rare US tour but the timing unfortunately doesn't work out for me. I hope they come back soon and I can save a little money for next time.

My Dreamcatcher bias is Handong and my bias wrecker is Yoohyeon so maybe it makes sense WheeIn is my absolute Mamamoo love. I adore artsy versatile women. Also Rosè is my BP bias haha. When you get around to Twice you probably wouldn't be surprised by my love for Chaeyoung and Mina as well

I do enjoy Wheein's voice. As much as I enjoy the swag of rappers, my biases tend to lean to vocalists. In DC, Yoohyeon was my first bias after watching DC Mind ep 6. We share a very painful life experience, and I already loved her voice and dancing. Handong grew on me and her drive to better herself, take a break to go home and be on Youth for You, and watch her grow. She earned that bias spot. I don't know why it took so long to call Siyeon my 3rd bias. Her vocals are so versatile, and I was constantly listening to her solo stuff. Everyone else wrecks me, though, as well because they are just so good. I fell for Rosé hard seeing her behind the scenes, just messing around and singing and her music selections when she went album shopping.

@@seattleinsomnia it's funny that you and I had a similar progression with Yooh and Dongie. My first song was Deja Vu and I got confused on who sang the iconic holding this pain line but Yoohyeon and JiU were both on screen so I thought "one of these two is my bias". All the following songs were post Dongie's trip to China so I had a whole year of hard crushing on Yoohyeon. Later after watching the guides and behind the scenes I learned Handong sang my favorite line of all time, and everything she's done since returning from China (plus I watched Youth with You too!) won me over so hard

I dont think there is any comparison to other groups like Mamamoo. Other than Red Velvet, no one else has the vocal power houses as mamamoo does in one group. 4 soloists that come together to make the best vocal group and entertainers of this time. Also, Moonbyul came before Dami. I think Mamamoo is far under-rated in Kpop while Blackpink is over-rated. Both are good groups, but the music from Mamamoo is far different than other groups. These 4 grown women compared to the girls in other groups. My recommendation is to watch MooYTs Mamamoo guide part 2. Its about the group and their journey. There is a lot left out in just the individual guides like purple hawke. You wont regret watching it.

Moonbyul did come before Dami, but I was exposed to Dami first. Either way, I think both are amazing. I'm trying to put my bias aside for Dreamcatcher, but as a total group from what I have seen so far, I would have to agree that Mamamoo is on a different level from all (as much as it pains me to compare against Dreamcatcher) the current groups right now. And I have only really seen 3 videos, a guide, and Hwa Sa's solo 'Twit', which will be up next Monday.

Moonbyul and Dami debuted in the same year. 👀Dami was a member of Minx and they also debuted in 2014. I was a Moo Moo before becoming an Insomnia but I never let that blind me to enjoying other groups and tbh the lack of friendliness to multistans it's one of the core weaknesses of Moo Moos atm. Please don't yuck other people's yum because of your own biases.

@@seattleinsomnia I'm an insomnia, but I do agree that in terms of vocal technique, they are the best in all kpop girlgroups, including Dreamcatcher. It's like you have 4 Siyeon-level singers in a group. Deukae is close second though and maybe RV also

Since you mentioned K-Rock, you might get a kick out of Rolling Quartz. And since you mentioned EDM, I can recommend the Japanese group Perfume. They've been going strong for 20 years! They have amazing shows to go with their amazing songs. I don't often prefer live performances over music videos, but Perfume's live performances are a thousand times better than the MV's.

Thanks for the comment. I have been reacting to RQ for about a month now. They are currently my favorite K-Rock band. Their cover of Good Night was recommended, and I have reacted to them each week since then. I will add Perfume to my list when I start going abroad. Right now, I have sticking with K groups and bands.

Would you believe me if I say Purple Hawke got enough hate, threats and doxxing to leave online fandoms altogether? Yet they unlisted the videos instead of deleting them, so people can still enjoy something made with love and care. KPOP "fans" are some of the worst in the world.

Thanks for the comment! Wait, what? So this is something I have not heard. I was wondering why it was unlisted and that there was no other content. I have heard of netizens and their online campaigns against members of groups because, for whatever reason, they have been deemed not good enough to be a member of said group, or fans from another group attacking out of jealousy. I don't want to speculate what really happened, but I do believe (and know) that some people can become so overly obsessed with something they do evil things and claim it what for the best interest of their obsession.

@@seattleinsomnia Specifically, they would bash and threaten purple hawke for including or not including clips or info and therefore failing or tarnishing mamamoo. That's absurd, because the videos are comprehensive and very positive. You're right. It's the same excuse as ever. Sociopathic "fans" claim they are defending or supporting artists, who would certainly be disgusted by such actions taken in their name, and they do it because they are bitter and hateful people.

@battleangel4833 TBH, that is something I worry about reacting to groups, but I have had nothing but positive comments and support from everyone so far. I hope it stays that way, but if and when that ever happens. I will cross that bridge when I get to it. I do feel bad learning this, though, because I understand the time and energy put in to create and edit videos. This is just as much work as a regular job. And to have to walk away from it because of toxicity is tragic.
