Today, I'm going to reveal the draft verion of MAMAMOO's
"ILLELLA", which so many people love.
I actually sang the guide draft version long time ago,
but compared to what you're listening to right now, it was pretty different.
We even had an idea about putting each of our names in the lyrics.
So we even had 'Yongsun' as a lyric.
Then as the basic frame was set, I sang the guide version again,
and here's that version of "ILLELLA".
So much time and effort is required in order to create a single song.
Many of you guys were curious about the guide version when the song was coming out,
so I prepared this video for you, haha.

It's amazing to hear her voice. She has a great range, such a powerful vocal with softness wherever it's needed. Her low registers in ILLELLA makes the song even better. Solar is one of the very few main vocalists in kpop who can flex effortlessly.

She worked hard for it yes, but she also has a lot of natural talent because there are plenty of stories who tried being an idol even at an early age and failing. That lack of star factor and natural talent is what sets them apart. Solar trained at 20 year old, the least time to train amongst Mamamoo members (the others trained from middle school and debuted at 20, solar trained only for 2-3 years), but she was able to debut as main vocalist, officially and recognized by public as well. That itself to be recognized by public for her singing skills that is above others, is a natural talent.

The cutie bluffing concept was so different from her own personality at the time, and during the whole comeback, it felt like she wholly embraced the concept persona. Mamamoo was the grouo that got me on kpop and i still amazed by their vocals everytime they put out something, also make me happy that they wanted to incorporate some latin rhythm! Now, my head is full of "yongsunnie...." in the draft version. It is so catchy. I also love YongSun's deep voice in the guide version. BTW, is the draft version the solo title candidate that YongSun mentioned during FACE era? I hope it is not.
