The girls practiced Save Me By Myself a lot during their trainee days for internal evaluations etc. There's a few live performances from their early years where they sing covers. Another one they did on a radio show was Love Me by Stooshe. A great one to check out if you wanted to! Also, don't know if you've come across IU but she's a solo artist that I'd definitely recommend since you're a songwriter. She's super popular domestically and is known for taking part in song production. Her lyricism is definitely something to admire and I think you'd like some of her slow tempo/ballads especially. She debuted in 2008 aged just 14 so she has a lot of experience too.

Yep Hwasa actually has the most confidence in her runs.. she also has the most agile voice in the group because of her solid foundations in both her head/falsetto and low chest voices. She’s seriously such an underrated singer because wheein and solar usually get the bulk of the praise, yet Hwasa is right there with them.

I know some ppl told you about the Rapper line and the Angel line having a bet on which song would chart higher when released at the same time(I think Angel charted number 1, while Dab Dab was 2) anyway the loser of the bet had to eat a range of spicy(I think chicken) from mildly spicy to extremely hot. which is what Hwasa and Moonbyul ate. Hwasa can handle hot food but Byul(at that time) couldn't handle spicy foods, like the medium spicy was too hot for her. the first bite had her coughing. a lot of Moos started begging Byul at the 2nd item to stop bc of how red her face was getting and bc she couldn't stop coughing but she wouldn't listen to us, saying that a bet was a bet. while Hwasa didn't even start getting affected until like the last two hot items. that was a range of emotions from Moos watching them from laughter, concern, worry to feeling proud and relief bc they finished it and because it was over

Fun fact: Mamamoo is really bad at lip-syncing and they did it, correct me if I'm wrong, twice in their whole career. The first time they did, it was a disaster but the second time was passable haha. So expect to get slayed by live vocals every time 😌

The losing team had to do a penalty, too. Eating a spicy pork cutlet meal together, which really only would have been bad for solar or byul since the other two like spicy food. They uploaded a video of byul/hwasa eating the meal together and while hwasa was totally unaffected poor byul was downing every drink in reach after every bite

Mamamoo is not to use lip sync or playback, the truth is that the time they tried it, there were clowns because they improvised out of nowhere and everyone realized it haha so they always sing live unlike many groups and it is a gift a curse since they do not rest their voice and they overexert themselves.

There is actually more than one version of them doing "Save me from Myself". The one in this reaction is from 4 years back. I usually listen to one that was recorded on a live radio show from December of 2014. Main Ship lines: MoonSun: the 30 years couple. - they are so used to each other that they act like old couple. Also called parents to the babies Wheepup and Hyegyo (hyejin + aegyo aka baby) WheeSa: Soulmates, bestfriends. - since they were friends from middle school, they know each other like the back of their hands. Hwasa commented in an interview that they know each other so well that they never fight, and don't need to talk verbally to communicate. They know when the other person needs space/doesn't want to talk, and will provide whatever is needed until they are ready to communicate again. * Emotional tidbit: when singing the Immortal Songs Medley (Love Story of a Girl), Wheein and Hwasa sings the line "half of my life is yours", they will always look at each other. 🤍💛 Other ship lines: WheeSun: Angel Line (power + honey vocal), MC Dukk and MC Dakk (rappers) WheeByul: First Love (Byul love and dotes on baby Wheepup just like pure, innocent love) HwaSun: LeMak line (Leader + Maknae, Solar loves and dotes on baby Hyegyo just like Byul dotes on Wheepup) HwaByul: Rapper Line, bi panic chaos (both are official rappers of the group, even though there is no such thing in real life, Byul loves to troll all members, but Hwasa loves physical affection, which leads to lots of funny panic moments whenever Hwasa gets touchy 🤣) *Special mention* The Leader (Mother) + Loser Club (kids): - the Loser Club is led by big troll Byul (2nd unnie), even though I highly suspect the shadow instigator is baby Wheepup most of the time 🤫 Reason being Hwasa is too laidback, lazy and cuddly, while Byul is actually really very reserved, conservative, and an actual big sister in her family. She's used to taking care of everyone, including Solar and the 2 babies. *Emotional Tidbit: Solar might be a crack head, however, she is more so because she would love to care and protect her babies (HwaWheeByul). She got 3 licences/certificates for Recreation Leader, Laughter Therapist, and Fun Leadership (mentioned in My Little Television, and Boss in the Mirror). It's clearly seen in Boss in the Mirror, that she does everything she can to care for her babies, including making and keeping her babies happy during tough and tiring times, such as telling funny stories and experiences to the babies during the filming of the MV, when everyone is tired in between takes, and successfully managed to get her babies' spirits up before the next take. - Byul the Moonstar protector and the people precious to her (HwaWheeSun) Byul is a quiet and reserved person, she usually sits aside while she sees her precious people playing around, while she takes in everything. As mentioned in the rap that she wrote in Star Wind Flower Sun, she noticed when Solar is smiling through hardship and tough times, and told her that she can cry too. I think the subs for Angel are off. The lyrics don't make a lot of sense and don't match the emotions they express through their singing. Someone probably knows of a better translation. In case you weren't aware of it since their stage presence is off the charts and it probably looks like they've done dozens of concerts before but Angel and Dab Dab were filmed during the first concerts of their career along with the fan song I Love You Too. I don't twitter and I probably won't suggest anything unless you ask for specific recommendations and other moomoos have left something out. You're trapped in the MMM rabbit hole and it's kinda fun to see where you emerge next by following your own nose. Or maybe it's more like you're the poor guy who got lost in the Boston subway system in the Kingston Trio's MTA: Did he ever return? No, he never returned and his fate is still unlearned. I'd rather attempt to cultivate a new age state of mind lol, which conveniently lets me quibble with 'new age jazz' as a description for Dab Dab. I'm sure it's just what came to mind in the moment and you probably know that New Age music is spacey and meditative. Examples of New Age jazz would include lots of the artists on ECM Records about 40 years ago such as Scandinavian cats like Jan Gabarek and Terje Rypdal.
