Not exactly... she kept materializing or being dropped from a great height. Key-teor is her tanking a boatload of damage, but setting herself on fire (flame hands) to do it in style and leave an... impression.

@@JulianCommodus A boatload literally. They pulled that trick from a couple episodes back where Vax tossed Fire Keyleth at Thordak in the campaign, but it was Earth Keyleth and it was targeted at Ripley’s ship.

The reason why this season feels so, final is because they didn’t know if they were getting a season 4. So happy they got renewed for another one and hope they will get to fully adapt the story.

Yeah, you can tell. Take out the cult scene and whatever is going on with Vax, and you get a happy ending for the series. I'm sure those were added in once they confirmed season 4.

Sure, I fully dived into Critical Role after watching the first season of The Legend of Vox Machina, but many others have. I now own Sideshow statues, the comics, and other merch items. I am (mostly) caught up on C1 now after watching this season (I try to avoid spoilers so that I can genuinely react). 2. I am a professional critic. I am a Critics Choice Association member and a Rotten Tomatoes Approved Critic. That is why I get screeners. It is not special treatment, it is how promotion and marketing works when it comes to press.

Honestly I'm so glad we got this Vax VS orthax moment, it looked like Mat was trying to set it up but didn't account to Taliesin disagreeing, so the table version is quite tame in comparison because Liam kept Vax in check fearing if he dragged the Matron in this Talisien would not return as Percy. Still worth a watch if you're interested tho. I'm sure its equally emotional, but dispelling a gun and begging a soul to come back VS going into a demon's domain and literally guiding a soul back via a faith thread, yeah thats way more visually epic, not to mention it gave us awesome dialogue, that 'Orthax, I seek vengeance' and 'She loves you, and so do I !' is going to live rentfree in my head for the next few years. And sadly enough it'll be 2 years for the next season.

This was the first season where they didn't already have the next season greenlit before they started airing it, so they wrote it so that it could end here if worst came to worst. Of course, it did good enough numbers by the first 3 batches that they were able to greenlight the next one.

Well, S4 has been confirmed 😁 And, uh... do you remember the Spinning Orb of Death under Whitestone? Yeah, that's still very much there. I mention this for absolutely no reason at all. Keyleth in earth elemental form can dive through earth and stone, it's really useful. The way she used it against Raidak/Thorshan was NOT what happened in the campaign, but both versions are soooo badass 🤩 I am SO curious how they're gonna do the next arc. There's a character I'd very much like to see, but it's totally unclear if they'll even be included... and I'm kinda hoping for a little cameo from a C3 character... we'll see. For now, I'm gonna have to come to terms with the fact that we're gonna be waiting another year at the least, although chances are M9 are gonna come along some time next year.... I can't wait!

This episode did confirm my earlier prediction... Pike does indeed still have "Xerxes" symbol... which is the Whispered One's symbol. Interesting. Just more confirmation to me that the Whispered One may already be working through or at least influencing Pike to some degree, even if it's subtle (for now) Bear with me; Pike briefly had an encounter with the Whispered One all the way back in Season 1 where she was trying to contact the Everlight. At the time it's easy to just say that it's a vision or premonition... but I personally think that really was the Whispered One who had been trapped in the plane Pike spiritually shifted to during her communion. However, due to her faith in the Everlight, all the Whispered One managed to do was basically get a tiny foothold in her soul, not nearly enough to do much of anything, but enough to keep in contact with her... perhaps even subtly disrupt her magic at bad times? How often have we seen Pike struggle to heal her friends in dire moments, even when it doesn't seem like she should be running out of juice since Keylith rarely seems to despite using her magic more overall. Now fast forward to Season 3 episode 4, the group finds themselves in Hell, and who senses her presence and takes an interest? Xerxes... whom we know is a follower of the Whispered One. What does he do? Specifically targets Pike, shakes her faith in the Everlight, just enough to make Pike start doubting again. And once agian, Pike is shown numerous times having a hard time using her magic while channeling the Everlight... then suddenly during the hallucinations the party was having during episode 7 she gets a vision of Xerxes who specifically tells her "Have faith in only yourself"... and boom suddenly she can do blood magic healing. Then in episode 9, in the battle with Thordak, she gets another vision... and throws away her Everlight symbol. It's presented as a badass moment... yet really think about it. This is not a good sign, even if it allowed her to finally use the Plate of the Dawnmartyr correctly... she's still a cleric, she still needs power from a deity for her magic, because unlike paladins Clerics are very specifically tied to gods for their powers. She may think that she's just drawing on magic from faith in herself... but that's not how that works (per the rules at least), but rather she's likely still drawing power from a god... just not the god she might think. The Whispered One is, among other things, a god of Secrets and Deception. It's well within his character to allow Pike the delusion that she's just somehow become a godless cleric out of nowhere, because for him he likely can begin to subtly work on her now that her connection to the Everlight is severed (at least for now), and perhaps the dreams visions and hallucinations she's been seeing have been the Whispered One all along. The Everlight basically telling her "Hey hey, any path you walk is righteous" sounds like good advice from a chill deity... but it also sounds like the kind of "eh do whatever you feel like" advice that might come from a more corruptive entity. Her visions of Xerxes may be more than just visions, but rather the Whispered One toying with her memories and appearing to her in a guise that despite her better judgement she seems to hold some kind of strange respect for. And now, here, in the season finale, we see that Pike still has the symbol Xerxes gave her... why does she still have it? What use does it have now that it's supposed purpose, getting them out of Dis, is fulfilled? Yet strangely she keeps it on her, and doesn't seem bothered by holding on to something given to her by a Devil, and is in the shape of a holy symbol and the symbol specifically of the Whispered One. Or I could be totally incorrect and I am overthinking this WAYYY too much :P

@@ebonykenneth2334 Yes and no. Vecna can't be used in this series for some bs copyright reasons, so in essence the Whispering One is Legally Distinct Vecna. They seem to be going with more of a Third Eye motif with the Whispered One in the series since they probably can't use the whole Hand/Eye symbology Vecna uses either, so in many ways the Whispered One in this series is basically a new character but one that is likely as similar to Vecna as they can make him without breaking copyright

I have since watched how it played out in C1, and I tend to agree. I was still heartbroken watching it, but it was a much quicker revival. Having him gone for so long added to the emotion. I also really love what Vax did for him in the animated version.

I really like the ending for two reasons, it gives the next season time to start off chill.. And, if we get the Mighty Nein sooner than later, it starts without there being a world ending event in Vox Machina.. So even with the time gap, they don't really need to explain it just yet due to its on different continants.

Having the whole team going after Ripley would’ve been cool as it would have made her look like that much more of an insane threat. We already saw in episode one that she’s more than capable of taking on the entirety of Box Machina by herself, so that would’ve been an amazing fight to see.

Hi, I'm sorry to be typing all this but I can't believe how much u look like my, well sort of girlfriend, but it's complicated. I'm from England, here and she's from Ukraine here to work so she can send money back there for her kids and family. We are trying to work things out and been together for 3 months I think. She left for 3 weeks but hasn't been back, Idk if she's okay, nor do her room mates she's living with. I do worry alot and hope she's okay. She's not my 1st gf, but she ismy true first love. My first two gf's asked me out, I was really good to both but they both cheated on me. I always wanted to wait to find the right one and when I turned 30 I went through depression and then met this person who helped me and I felt in love with. she's a bit older then me but I do love her with all my heart, and hope she and her family are safe cos Idk what I'll do if I knew something bad happened. U do just look so much like her.
