I thought all chili was a one pot dish lol! I've never used a seasoning packet making chili--honestly, I had never heard of Chili-O until I cleaned out my mother-in-law's pantry! (She was not known for her chili.) I'm so sorry you burned your mouth. Next time, take a spoon of sugar right away and put the sugar over the place you burned, letting it dissolve. It really will take away the burn in your mouth!

I too don't care for the taste of black beans. They taste burned to me. 'll use kidney and pinto beans both. And add lots of cumin. Too much tomato paste doesn't agree with my stomach.
