Hopefully the fact that the airtime is mostly floater and not hitting extremes means it won’t create too much extra wear and tear so they keep the trim off, having Mamba be a great ride as opposed to a deeply disappointing one is huge for the park

This thing absolutely blew me away when I visited last summer. It rides like a modern magnum, and on the day I visited temps were soaring. Every hill gave borderline violent ejector and the midcourse still barely touched the train. It’s a top 25 coaster for me.

Mamba is now running like it did when it first opened. Back then, I remember the ejector airtime on those bunny hills being insane. So, it was a huge disappointment when they overdid it with the midcourse brakes, it killed all of the fun. When I got a first ride after they changed the control system I was stunned; in disbelief at how much I thoroughly enjoyed it and how giddy it made me. The floater off the lift hill and then the camel back is exquisite. Your butt is out of the seat and you effectively free fall until the train smacks down on the track in the valleys. I actually have to brace for it since it can be jarring. Whereas the midcourse trim had become a buzzkill, now you go flying when it drops into the bunny hills. You’re in air more than you’re seated and absolutely haul into the final brake run where you get one last pop of airtime in the front. One of Mamba’s strengths is the length of its trains. Yeah, it cranks out more passengers per hour. However, the beauty of its length is that the front and back rows offer different ride experiences - floater vs ejector. It’s almost like riding two different coasters. (Row 3 is my go-to.) Mamba has gone from “I might as well ride since I’m here and that camel back is kind of cool” to being an absolute must ride with each visit. I know many in the coaster community have been underwhelmed by the new Zambezi, but I have grown to absolutely love it. With Mamba, Zambezi, and Prowler, Worlds of Fun has one of the most underrated coaster lineups out there. Those three sure got me back to the park more times than any year in the past.
@CanobieCoaster8 ай бұрын
Zambezi is a solid ride, as long as you go in not expecting airtime. The pacing and lats are great. Mamba is now my favorite in the park with how it runs.

I lucked out just happening to make my first trip to WOF last June. i had heard the trim was turned off but I was not prepared for how awesome that ride was. I get bored sometimes with B&M hypers and their redudnancy (why Goliath is my favorite). I flew in to KC on a Saturday and waited 3 hours since it was on one train, but it was worth it. Went back the next morning for rope drop and got 4 walk on rides before heading to Branson. I went to WOF really just to check it off my list but Mamba has made me want to come back. Also thanks for answering my question about filming at Lagoon. Had an awesome time it's such a great park.

This year was my first time I visited WoF and Mamba was indeed, spectacular. Yeah, it blew Steel Force and Steel Eel(the only Morgan's I've ridden) away. Although I still love Steel Eel for its "unique" air time. Personally, I thought the magic seat was in row 3 like Magnum(but I really dislike Magnum and love this coaster)... They had a sprinkler running on the bottom of the helix and we were coming in so hot they were watering down the brake run too. BTW, going to Canobie for the first time on Sunday for Screemfest...despite the fact I live in CT. So I probably should have gotten around to it sooner lol

This makes me really happy cuz for years now the only park has been running steel force largely trimless and I don't mean like there's no dreams. I just mean like they don't hit hard not like mamba and wild thing used to or do, and it really made the ride. Amazing for that second half. Nothing but floating and I'm so happy they decided to do it with another

Wild Thing would need a complete rework of the final brakes if they wanted to run trimless full time lol, it often hits it way too fast and causes sparks/sensor issues
@CanobieCoaster Жыл бұрын
I wish Valleyfair could, but look at videos when that one runs trimless. It sparks. I've heard the park views it as a safety issue. I think the best they could do on that one (minus reworking the brakes) is to add a trim at the last hill so it can stop in time on the final brakes.

For years, this was my # 4 in the park. Now, it's a clear top 2. I love row 3 the best. Magnum had 2 airtime moments that seemed slightly stronger in row 3, but Mamba is far more comfortable and enjoyable. Last night, after getting a ride, I went back and almost was on the train that had to get evacd off the top of the lift hill. One side note: the park always has the waterpark entry open, even during Haunt. The waterpark is closed, but you can just take the path that drops you right in front of Mamba, allowing plenty of time for rides before crowds get there from the main entrance. I also think it's a shorter walk, and you never have a bad traffic jam when leaving the parking lot, which always happens in the main lot on Haunt nights.
@CanobieCoaster Жыл бұрын
That's a good tip about getting to Mamba quickly! Is the lot next to the return run the park's overflow lot?
@OklahomaCoasterFan Жыл бұрын
@@CanobieCoaster That is the main parking lot for the waterpark, accessed via Parvin Rd south of the main entrance. Today, that entry wasn't open during the 11-5 hours, so it must be only open for the Haunt timeframe.

I'm still not sure if I'll put it over Steel Force. Steel Force's operations had some critical improvements this year over last year's. I still find Dorney Park very visitable, it's not too far of a drive from Ocean City. I'm heading to WoF next year, and although I'm sure Mamba will be awesome, I'm not sure it's going to be a priority for me. I just don't know if in future years it'll be worth traveling all the way to Kansas City for what is effectively a beefed up Steel Force...

I'm planning on taking a trip to Worlds of Fun for the first time in 2024 maybe in April. I'm excited that everyone is talking about how mamba is running great without the trim brakes. But I'm really not to excited to ride it even after all of the hype and you know why. I finally rode My first Morgan coaster Steel Eel last year at SeaWorld San Antonio and I was not impressed about the way the coaster slams you down in you seat after each valley of the hills. It hurts like he'll and I can literally say that B & M coasters are way much better than the Morgan's. I also didn't like steel Eels first drop how it have that big crest before the real drop even began which to me takes away the feel of the negative g's. Which B&M hypers don't crest their coaster the same way which it's more fun. Can anybody tell me if I'm gonna get the same experience on Mamba as I did on steel eel or will it be like my Nitro at Sixflags great adventure, full of good airtime and not slamming you down in the seat after each drop Tell me please someone tell me.
