Stephen! Just came across this video and what a great introduction to your channel this has been! I am dumbfounded by how nice these images look in Black & White and it is making me want to shoot landscapes which I have not done in a long while. I can image these images would turn out quite nice on paper, do you print your images?

Hello Stephen, nice shots, i use pan f as well. Just one thing was that your tripod wobbling or your phone ? was rather off putting. keep it going.
@StephenMilner4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching. It was a very windy day and my video tripod is lightweight. The wobble can be caused by stabilisation in FCPX.

Hi Stephen, love it, by the way i use pan f between 25 and 64 asa developed in Microphen , I find it great for low light landscapes, it keeps the shadows deep and moody a bit like fuji velvia, keep it going.

Hi Stephen, All lovely images turned out very well in PAN F. I’m looking forward to shoot that film as well. Which L-bracket did you fit to the Mamiya? I have a similar set up but the 150mm. Is it as sharp as the 80mm? I highly recommend the 43mm which Is a Stellar piece of Glas. Thank you for the nice video. Greets from Munich
@StephenMilner4 жыл бұрын
Hi, thank you! Both the 150mm and 80mm are very sharp lenses. The 150mm can be tricky to focus wide open. I recently swapped my 7 for a Hasselblad 503cw. If you are interested in the 80mm or 210mm lenses for the 7 I have them for sale.

The pan F looks good, I'm still a lover of FP4, HP5 and Tmax 400, love the heavy contrast. I've got an old minolta dynax 9 in storage, looks like she's got some work to do. Very nice video Stephen! Excellent vibes and images. I just want to give a bit of constructive criticism though. You don't need to shoot how you get in your car in 5 different shots man! One or two are more than enough. Just the loading in the back and driving away for example. The focus is on the way you shoot and the images you produce. You don't need the extra bit of effort :). Hope it helps! And you've earned a new subscriber nonetheless :)

A lot of nice looking images obtained here. However, I would question whether Pan F brings anything useful to the table over faster films like FP-4 or even HP-5, in his setting. He was shooting ISO 50 film, with 2 stops of filter and one more stop of over-exposure. That is an ISO of 6 for most of these shots. Then he is shooting at f 16-22, leaving shutter speeds around 1/4 to ?? seconds. Now mix in the wind, blowing hard enough so that you can watch his camera move back and forth. Presume that the trees and grasses do likewise. Likely, that this film's ability to capture fine detail compared to faster films here was washed away by subject and camera movement. Often, the faster films, shooting at wider (higher resolution) f-stops and much faster shutter speeds will produce the sharper and more detailed image. Finally, flatbed scanning will not resolve the finer details/sharpness Pan F is capable of producing under optimum circumstances. No free lunch in film photography.
@StephenMilner3 жыл бұрын
The movement is from the video camera. No movement in the camera tripod.
