I cried at your apology. As a Jamaican who advocated for black South Africans during Apartheid. The behaviour and hate of black South Africans toward another black person has sent shockwaves through my entire system. I am not surprised by the white South Africans because I know deep down they still hate blacks. I think that same shockwave has reverberated throughout the World. It will take generations to fix. Hate does nothing but destroy and sometimes have a boomerang effect. Thank you for your message of positivity and hope. You have eased a bit of the pain of what I saw. Congrats to Chichi. The world loves her and embrace her.

My message to them is dem muss shut dem bomboclaat! Dem can't speak on black issues outside a dem country fi mek mi feel better. So a dem one have difficulties? Difficulties is we middle name, dem don't treat our skin like how dem treat paler skin, and if u a Nigerian & Zimbawean u just dead. Dem actions are deliberate, deliberate choices carry consequences. If you consider yourself a “Nigerian American” because one of your parents is American ….. I can understand that. However, if both of your parents are Nigerian and you claim to be a “Nigerian American” because you naturalised there or you were born there ….. I don’t understand. For you to lead with the description that you are a “Nigerian American” even though that is irrelevant to the conversation is baffling and then comes across as a flex. It is relevant for me to say, that whilst I was born in the Uk and hold a British passport, you’ll never hear me describe myself other than an African or a Nigerian.

What a lady !!! As a Nigerian after watching this, i pulled back from giving up on South Africa. Once in a while you come across very sound, intelligent and classy South Africans, then you wonder where all those creatures of hate crawl out from? Are they in the space as this lady? She put things in proper perspectives, and i am in awe of her maturity. Trust me Nigerians have a fairly good idea what is going on with South Africans psychologically. They know SAans are suffering from post apartheid trauma, and mostly failed governance issues. We are suffering that in Nigeria too. The difference is that in Nigeria we do not go blaming others for our own failures. We simply dust ourselves and hustle, to make sure we put food on the table and take care of our responsibilities. Most of sub-saharan Africa do have same problem of governance failure's from their govts. Seems only SAans are the ones who just want to use others as punch bag for the failures of their own govt. Thank you sister for a well articulated overview of things. Thank you for your graceful apology, and mostly for your kind words for Chi Chi. She loved and adored your nation bcos she was born and bred as a SAan. The only Nigerian thing about her is her name. Unfortunately things went this way. She's now ours and we thank SA for giving us back such a beautiful intelligent and brave girl. Once again God bless you for your kind words. You rock !!! 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾✅✅💯🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🇳🇬🇳🇬

There are misinformed people from across the continent, and I blame social media that's inherently programmed to propagate stereotypes. Let's use the same social media to spread love, to expose and punish crimes irrespective of the nationality of those who commit crimes. This is an excellent presentation about Chidinma that digs into the effect of childhood trauma in your country. Unfortunately, trauma does not understand the meaning of embarrassment or respect for any nationality. What may help will require resources from the government: social, psychological, and spiritual. Psychological intervention will be the starting point; trained psychotherapists will need to be recruited for this purpose. Providing allowances or food to resolve problems, as we see in some African countries, without treating the fundamental challenges is unhelpful. Good job!

I'm from the Igbo tribe in Nigeria. As an ethnic group, we have been marginalized in our own country. Other tribes thinks that we just like wailing and causing unrest in the country even though all we're asking for is to be treated fairly. Should I go about angry and jealous with hatred for the other tribes. Infact I have dated men from these other tribes and came very close to getting married to a Yoruba man. I really loved him but it just didn't work out. As Igbos we don't carry grudge for long because we need to progress and if I hold you down because of hate I'm equally stagnated. Thus, we must dust ourselves and move on because the goal is to advance. South Africa please forgive, heal and move on especially for the sake of progress especially for the black SAns. I'm rooting for you guys ❤❤

@@Jon_jon41 The likes of you and many other Africans still have a lot to learn from this lady's message of love & tolerance. Hate isn't just an SA thing, so many people in Nigeria and other parts of African still harbor some level of ethnic resentments against their neighbors within the same country, but in the form of tribalism. The 'Igbo must Go' campaign that happened in Lagos a while ago was also a form of Ethnic hate or xenophobia in the form of tribalism. So, as we're accusing South Africans, let us also imbibe our own lessons from this incident, that HATE begets HATE!

Thank you, thank you, thank you! So well communicated. Many of us in the international black community who fought for South Africa’s freedom never took responsibility for helping our brethren post apartheid. The trauma is real and we need to recognise it globally. It is easy to wag fingers at the so called perpetrators but how many of us have taken time to examine why a people would behave that way to their own. We in the black community of states need to reach out to black South Africans and help our brothers and sisters, communicating more love by empathising and relating to their struggles. The odd enquiry of wellbeing through social media would be a good start. This was so well spoken Mamiya, it serves as a wake up call for all of us on a global scale. There is plenty of work to be done, addressing individualism is key. I left my house because it was in a mess and now live in another house that is not my own unable to fix the one I left from afar. This is the plight of many displaced migrants residing in locations around the world. I see my old neighbour shouting about a similar type of mess but his is because cousins have moved in and he has no easy access to facilities. Black community, we need to wake up, we need to unite on a global scale and do something to fix our communal problems. The internal wrangling must stop, humility, empathy and love is fundamental to our cause. Chidinma’s situation is a blessing for us all on so many fronts, her message of unity and love in Africa is not to be taken lightly. We are all one family.

Thank you for articulating what I suspected. I never gave up on SAcans. I have many friends in that beautiful country. What we see is another form of what we do in other African countries, where we fight to pull one another down due to economic harships and fight for political power by one ethnic group agaisnt another. Thank you. We need deep thinking people like this woman to lead in Africa - deep, sound, philosophical leadership that see things from a deep perspectives. God love you!

Caro,. Chidinma gets to STAY in the apartment for a year which is leased for her. The crown is not owned by her, so lets make sure we are beung factual. I fully expect to see Chidinma on the catwalks and in the top magazines. She really has model looks. Chidinma is an Igbo background. They should read up in what the Igbos went through and are still going through.

That's like kicking my child out of the house after putting her through medical school with my retirement savings! If that child becomes a rich and famous doctor, i would have already robbed myself the honour of being the proud parent to be congratulated.

Get the hell lost with your Igbo despicable cry. There were two main Nigerian that could not stand by and let South Africa mistreat Chidinma bad. This two are Ben Bruce and Abike Dabiri, they facilitate her return to participate in the Nigerian peacetime; And the truth is that none of them is Igbo, but Ijaw and the other Yoruba. I you idiot IPOBians will stop your nonsense cry

God bless you so much Ntsiki, this is my first time coming across your channel. Your apologies are truly from the heart and I pray black South Africans heal and don't see other black Africans as their enemies. As a Nigerian in the diaspora, I hear other blacks from here in US and the Carribeans appalled by these xenophobic black South Africans. It's more disheartening to realize these hate coming from educated black SAns online. Truth be told Ntsiki, it's very hard to run down Nigeria/Nigerians, we are loving, supporting and take other black Africans as our own families. We should all be firstly "Graciously African" and "Proudly" our variuos nations. God bless Africa..

What an angel you are !!!! The whole hate coming from south africans to Chidinma Adetshina, who did nothing to them, making believed nothing good can come out of South Africa, in that I even advised people to stay away from South Africa. But listening to you, make me see 👀 that deep spirit of brotherhood that Africans are known for. You are an angel 😇 💛 💖 💓

This is very well spoken. You’ve spoken even better than the SA Government has spoken. There’s still some good people in that country. This one incidence has made me given up on a country that I love. If I might add finally that, one abuse doesn’t justify another. Hurt people need be healed lest they hurt other people. Thank you for your kind words. You resolved this one issue that a whole country couldn’t resolve.

I get your excuse about the brokenness, trauma, frustration and poverty in South Africa as a result of the past but the pour all that on one Child, born in South Africa from immigrant parents is a no no. South Africans can do better by calling their government to order and not blame other African nationals for their mishap and misfortune. I still love content and I wish you well.

As a diaspora African…. I’ve never seen such hate embedded in a nation on the continent, towards our own!! We might say maybe it was mostly done on social media and may not be real but through the world we live in now, we see and learn about a person on the media, from themselves without directly saying. I’ve been in shock about South Africa displays and have really been hoping to understand or be enlightened of where this was all coming from towards the other…?! Though there are others in the nation with a completely different heart and perspective… I see South Africa way…. different now (cautiously) Thanks for enlightening some of us Mama … We need to do better; choose love, respect and unity over hate!!!
