There's actually a bunch of compatible backs. Hard to find, but they exist. Zintax and Binstax and a bunch of converted instax square backs. I wish Fuji would make a manual camera for instax. That would be next level! If you know how to 3d print, you can normally mod one yourself pretty easy. But thats granted 3d printing is available.

Thanks for putting this together and sharing. Gifted myself a Mamiya RZ 67 Pro ii and figured there had to be a way to shoot Instax film without spending another $400 for an Instax back. I’ve taken 6 test shots, nothing really exciting, but I’m getting the hang of it. Big difference with the overall sharpness and quality of the images compared to the Instax camera. I have 3 film backs, so looking forward to doing multiple shots without having load each time. Anyways, thanks for sharing. Also, dig your work.

So happy to help. It's so discouraging when 99% of film photography instagram is Mamiya 7II's and all the fancy attachments. The ability to do simple 'mods' and get more a less the same results with just a bit of elbow grease, makes me wish I was around for all the 2008 photrio days hahah. My RB is what brought back my love for film. I spent years shooting film and saving for a digital camera, got a digital camera, and slowly started shooting less and less. Then I was gifted the RB and got back into film. Making the jump to MF was really fun, especially cause it was the first time I could get good scans at home. Started developing and scanning myself and the rest is history! Thank god for that camera.

I have one of these myself, but it's been modded to shoot 120 film. It was that way when I bought it, but I kind of wish it hadn't been. Still such a rad camera.

Is the placement of the developed film back to instax camera necessary ? It's exposed, so why not to take it out from the dark bag directly to the daylight ?

It’s exposed but not developed. The thick border at the bottom of instax and polaroid contains the chemistry. The reason that Instant film ejects out of the camera the way it does is to develop it. There are two rollers that the film passes through the squeeze the chemistry across the film, like a pasta roller. That’s why it goes back into the instax camera, the get sent through the rollers, for processing.
