Everybody always complains about the "bad" singing in this movie but I was actually very impressed with almost all of them, especially Amanda Seyfried and Meryl Streep (she sings the winner takes it all AMAZING here). But even the guys aren't that bad, I love this version of my last summer more than the original. Same for does your mother know and slipping through my fingers.

Most people don't understand that this is actually a horror movie. Everyone on the island is cursed to sing ABBA songs if their lives even remotely relate to one of the songs. This is a lot of fun for a while, but after maybe 20 years or so...well, I have my theory about what happened to Donna.

The highlight of my life was when I was on a scout summer camp, we got together with a male team and we had an actual ball and it so happened it was a day after my 17th birthday. At some point they split everyone in 2 teams and we had to perform a dance number (sort of a dance battle). The song for us was "Dancing Queen" and two guys lifted me in the air for the chorus "You are the dancing queen, young and sweet only 17". Let's say I lived out my very own Mamma Mia! scene lol.

I was just thinking about this movie a few days ago and how odd it was that she was so excited to be reading about her mom getting pregnant with her. Usually people don't want to hear about that aspect of their parents' love lives, as far as I know. The music is fun, though. I like how both the mom and daughter have their own small group of friends that can be there for them.

I didn't know they were drinking on set! That's hilarious. There's also a film adaption of Much Ado About Nothing I really like where they rented a lake house for a weekend and shot all the scenes and basically were drunk the whole time. It's really funny to watch all the alcohol bottles accumulate in the background

Actually, the strongest theory is that Bill (Skarsgard) is the father. Sophie was named after his relative (aunt? i forget) and they're both blonde, which is a recessive gene. They focused on Brosnan because he was the one Meryl Streep loved, not because he was biologically Sophie's father.

This film got me into Abba. I wanted the soundtrack and my mom said, “i’ll do you one better” handing me the Abba greatest hits CD. I was immediately hooked. My favorite is Lay all Your Love on me. I love Amanda’s voice in that song. Myral is a queen. Her voice is iconic and it really proves how versatile and talented she is. This movie is cheesy, but it is supposed to be. I love the characters and the shenanigans that happen. One of my favorite jukebox musicals/guilty pleasures.

Mamma Mia will always be one of my top comfort movies. ABBA songs have always been a part of my life growing up so when I found out about Mamma Mia when it was released it was a must watch for me (i was 8 when it was released haha and I'm 21 now, I must've watched this movie at least 25 times). They sing Fernando in Here We Go Again! I didn't like the second movie as much as the first but it's still something you should check out. It's a good one I think my top 3 comfort movies are The Parent Trap, Mamma Mia and The Sound of Music
