So what crafts and creative hobbies are you all into? I'll get the ball rolling... apart from making these songs, I do a lot of photography, but also enjoy embroidery, particularly blackwork. When the mood takes me, I also like drawing - when I was a student, I worked as a caricature artist for a while. Anyway, I'd love to hear what all your creative pursuits are. Hopefully they're contained and not taking over your homes, as in the song! 😆

Yikes! My "creative" hobby is bushcraft/survival/and er outdoorsy pursuits. Except at the moment I can't actually go anywhere, so rather unfortunately I am just gathering tons of stuff just getting ready for when I can. Darn it, the Internet has got a lot to answer for, far too easy to spend, spend, spend when the imagination is all fired up but can't exercise itself outside. Not joking, - I am actually moving out into a tent in the backyard because my bedroom ( and every other room) is stuffed full of kit. My husband still has a bed inside, - for the time being anyway....... ⛺😳

Shirley and Lindsay....thank you for making the end of my day pure bliss!!!! I loved every word, note, and motion...who knew your talents branched into an ABBAsolutely amazing video. Could watch you ladies all day. I have been crafting for about 65 years and there isn't any craft I've tried that I haven't fell in love with....drawing, oil painting, crochet, beading, decoupage, card making...and the list goes on. Life without crafts and every square inch of a 9 x 14 so jam packed it could be called a hoarder's nest....and I love every square inch. Life and God have been good to me!!! OI! This is more than a little bit scary! This so perfectly describes . . . ME! Not so much crafts -- well, several years ago I collected crafts and still have most of that stuff -- but I was a fabric junky -- no, "textile archivist"! -- so now I have literally hundreds (probably a couple thousand) yards of fabrics, from polar fleece to denim to silk; polyesters, knits, fancies, etc. And, oh yeah, the notions to go with the stuff. I don't buy much anymore, though, and I don't sew much anymore, although I do need some new jeans, so maybe soon?

Omg! This same thing applies to me & 3d printing! Parts, tools & spools of filament everywhere, and I get depressed whenever I go into my "printer room" and see all the printers in various stages of assembly or repair (to say nothing of the resin printer & cnc router machines still sealed in their boxes)! 🤯

I guess this would apply to any hobby, creative or not. My garage is FULL of my kayaking gear. Ridiculously full! 🤣

This made me laugh. Just this week I saved the tissue paper that comes with new shoes in a shoe box, cut cereal boxes for the cardboard and considered going to garage sales to get funky jewelry to take apart and reuse on journals. Oh, my!

I’d had a sort of watershed moment about my crafting and how overwhelmed I felt having so much stuff and so many projects. I had a sort of an epiphany about my hobbies, in terms of that they weren’t as good for my mental health as I thought they were. I felt trapped by it all in the end. I’ve got to tell you this- when I first saw the video I thought at least I don’t have a spouse to worry about it but I’ll tag my two brothers- in-law and then I realised one restores Harley Davidsons as his hobby and the other has a massive model railway layout which is constantly evolving! My late husband was a keen amateur photographer who encouraged me in my stash acquisition and I paper craft as well as sewing, knitting, crochet, etc etc etc.

Hi Shirley, I'm a seamstress and actually work from home doing formal wear alterations such as wedding, bridesmaid, prom and pageant gowns. During the slower season.....after proms and pageants are done for the year, I enjoy making jewelry if or when time does permit. I buy large amounts of genuine gemstones.....actually by the pound. I don't make jewelry from plastic beads as some folks do and all my findings have to be either surgical grade stainless steel or sterling silver.....no junk!! I guess my jewelry findings....and jewelry that's been made is pretty contained. Although, Lots of plastic tubs stuck in nooks and crannies!!! EDITED 7-23 I should've added that during the summer I can a lot of veggies. Last year I canned 264 jars of everything from salsa to Apple pie filling. This year, so far I've canned 35 quarts of green beans, 56 quarts of potatoes and 12 quarts of purple hull peas. Just picked up sweet corn today and will be doing that tomorrow! I should be able to get around 25 pints. Just had a wedding party come yesterday for fittings so I've got those alterations to do also! Pray for me!! :) YOUR PARODY SONGS!!

I've returned to my old hobby, Crocheting!! I learned how to crochet back in 1977, I think it was....my work gal friends and I would do our boring jobs, waiting for lunchtime! This had me giggling, as my craft room is a bomb site! I am trying to declutter and find good causes to donate my unwanted craft materials too. I have made just enough space to work and have finished 4 WIPs in the last couple of weeks. I have rebound, by hand, the edge of a king size quilt made by my late mother in law, finished a wrap I was crocheting, finished a floral hoop embroidery and also finished a beaded necklace and earring set. I have put off starting any new projects, because I am setting myself the challenge to try to complete more WIPS and design and make this year’s Christmas cards before November…

I am so looking forward to watching and enjoying this video, Shirley and Lindsay! I enjoy photography, cooking and baking, mixed media and cardmaking, gardening, homesteading... My most favorite of all is grandparenting. My cardmaking and mixed media has definitely taken over my home, especially since mixed media arts can utilize so many household items to create marks, stencils and stamps! So I find myself looking at everything to see how I can use them in my artwork. I have a KZbin channel too, though the last 4 years I've not been able to add much content. I do have videos of how: I've used paper egg cartons to make a papier mache type product to make mold which I've painted and used for art. I've taken leaves, grass, berries, flower petals... and mashed them to get some pigment to paint with. I've taken coffee and tea, the grounds and the leaves to add to texture paste to add texture and color, and, I've taken brewed coffee and tea to paint with, sometimes adding pigments from food coloring, reinkers, and other pigments, to paint with.

I'm not sure if I'm really a crafter or I just like to shop for crafts! Sewing, needlework, knitting, watercolor, acrylic painting, stamping, scrapbooking, cardmaking, mixed media and anything Lindsay demos, I buy it, start it and it goes unfinished! Even my scrapbooks need journaling! I think I have a "Master's in re-organizing my craft spaces which have now overtaken my original "office/craft space: a spare bedroom, now my sewing room, and the basement which holds supplies and my home business! This was so fun. Going to a stamping gathering with friends tomorrow and I’ll be playing this one for them. I’m going to watch it a few more times so I get the words right! Lol! I’m a stamper making mostly birthday cards because I send out about 40 a year to family and close friends. When I’m not stamping I knit and crochet and I also do counted thread embroidery. Love working with hand dyed threads and 40 ct. linen. So yes, I have stashes of art and craft supplies all over the house!

Boy, does this resonate! I'm not quite as bad as this ( I think!) but my room is full of arts and crafts stuff... My Dad, having spent four years sitting on his hands and looking at the clutter Mum accumulated in the years before she had her stroke ( she now lives in a care home as her disabilites require a level of care beyond that which Dad and I could provide)finally bit the bullet and began clearing it. Mum was, before her stroke, something of a needlewoman, knitting, crocheting, dress-making and altering clothes, but her passion was cross-stitch, blackwork and related crafts. We have currently unearthed threads of many brands and all colours, aida of all counts by the bolt, kits and project books galore, frames of all sorts... and we've barely even started...

Fabulous video 🤪. So true, I have an entire room filled floor to ceiling and 2 stainless steel rolling shelf units in my storage craft room. Can’t create in there, only for storage. I have been creating all my life, almost 65 now. Here are some of the stuff I enjoy, or have enjoyed in the past: digital scrapbooking, card making, decoupage, cross stitch, plastic canvas, beading, photography, resin, calligraphy, oil painting, acrylic painting, watercolor painting, colored pencil, watercolor pencil, candy making (decorate in molds), very basic cake decorating, pen & ink drawing, digital creating using Photoshop Elements, plus many, many holiday crafts. I follow Lindsey, so glad she let the group know about this video👩‍🎨🎨🤩🤓

Only got started in paper crafting in 2017, but was a painter in oils and acrylics before that. This video is the epitome of exactly how I feel every day now! Craft room is full, and all my basic daily "must have at hand" necessities spill over into my living room and have taken over dining room table. Decided 3 months ago to yet again reorganize and clear off dining room table, so family could visit to eat a meal there instead of living room couches at tray tables, but the craft supplies are winning still, occupying about still 1/3 of dining room table. Will I ever be able to have a meal with company again in my small dining room?

Wow! I was so mesmerized by all the colouring markers in the background!! Oh dear, my weakness in life is my craftroom, I immediately sent a share of this to all my crafting club!! We meet every Monday at the local seniors centre, and it’s so much fun! We don’t get much done, but share and plan to shop for more crafting goodies!!

I'm a fabriholic, have bins of fabric. Make costumes, carve gourds into bowls, felt soap, make home made soap, dip candles, minatures and doll houses, beading, woodwork projects, candy making, canning, dehydrating, geneology, leather projects and tanning hides and just discovered painting with water colors...
