It’s actually been the case for a few years now with Reef LEDs for coral growing. Especially the White to Deep Blue/ UVA spectrum extended with hyper violet & Ultraviolet LEDs. Highly customisable. GHL for example over 10 years ago had customisation on spectrum with dimming & lunar cycle tracking for mimicking breeding responses. The price of one 200w light was in excess of €1,200 at the time though. For a simple 4x4 you’d need 4 units with specific lenses to suit a tent. So pretty out of reach for most and also bear in mind these were COB style lights running less LEDs at higher voltages. But the tech is certainly out there & has been for years. The trick now is making it economically worthwhile.

I use uvb fluorescents with my LEDs. 30-45mins a day, half through the day’s light cycle for the last 2-3 weeks of flower. Noticed an increase in frost on the buds. Quite a bit actually. However, did a test with uvb LEDs and they were useless. Zero gains. Migro’s uvb setup is makes much more sense.

The light tubes themselves are that powerful I had issues with leaf curling to protect themselves. How ever I was hitting mine with 1 hour of light per day during the last few weeks of flower. There was a massive difference in resin production when comparing the buds on the outside compared to the buds directly below the tubes.
@patrickgagne87952 жыл бұрын
@@AsttoScott exactly. Only time I got results like that was when I grew using cmh. After switching to LEDs, I researched why I always had frosty girls and it was the uvb spectrum in the cmh. I did a side by side at my commercial grow and without question the girls with uvb were frostier. Can mess up your girls if you use it too early or for too long.

Stay away from Mars and Spider if you don't want to waste money.. Their lights are risky, there's a 50-50% chance it will work for 1 year. Many people bought Mars and Spider and it stopped working after few months. Just pay a little bit extra and you will be glad. Migro lights are not that expensive and they are billion times better. Even Maxisun is better than Mars or Spider, although their designs are similar so i wouldn't expect much. My brand new Mars TSL2000 heated up my tent from 20c to 30c in just 10 minutes with proper ventilation, and the light started to smell like burning electronics. It was hot like a damn toaster, even with drivers mounted outside. I returned the light and waited 2-3 months for a refund because their customer service is terrible. They were ignoring and avoiding my e-mails after they received the light i returned, i had to complain about them on a forum in order to get someone to reply to me. And their warranty is nothing, only 1 free year warranty.. After that, you pay for parts, repairs, shipping both ways and it costs like a new light. You wait for months and sometimes they don't honor the warranty. Does that sound like a good company to you? In comparison, now i have a Migro Aray and it heats up my tent only 3c, from 25c to 28c. That tells you everything about the quality. Just go read the bad reviews of Mars and Spider..

This design makes me assume that I need 2 x of your UVB T8 light tubes instead of 1 per 1.5 square and at my aquarium store I have LED's made by fluval for plants. I use an app on my phone and I can control every spectrum with a sliding bar and even mimic 24 hour light cycles with moon light and all. Why aren't they doing this with hydro lights already? It really is a no brainer since aquarium lights have been doing it for years already.

Shane it seems like by your attitude you don’t even like this light lol it just seems like you’re not excited like you are with other led review of your really tired. The UV strip light is expensive for a weak output, your UVB is better. One other question how did they make a UVB out of LEDs I thought those don’t last long or they’re super super expensive.
@twentytwo1382 жыл бұрын
Technology is improving. UVB LED's existed already, but it wasn't viable. I guess things are starting to change, slowly but surely. There are also UVC LED's if i'm not mistaken, but they are almost useless.

Nice. As the UV LED tech improves I’m expecting to see more and more LED lights including them. Looks like this light would work even better in a 4x4 looking at that PPFD map (since it will physically fit into one, especially if you ran it with Positive Pressure). Wishing more light companies would make the physical dimensions of their lights the same physical dimensions as the tents they intended them to go in so the grower could have the option of adjusting the height to whatever their desired intensity might be without losing intensity on the perimeters. Thanks as always for the review. ✌️

Another garbage light, over 600 PAR difference between corners and center, and over 500 PAR difference between sides and center. I cannot believe that with 2022 LED technology, we get these garbage designs. These so-called light engineers cannot design their way out of a wet paper bag. This light reminds me of the old days, when we used HPS street lights, where you got a really high hot spot in the middle and no light penetration along the edges of your grow space. That was 30 years ago and nothing has changed. Also, no KZbin reviewer ever points this out, and in the end, they always recommend the light, no matter how bad it is, so they can receive other lights from the manufacturer and sell their souls for clicks. For once i like someone to tell the truth, and NOT recommend some of these self-evident garbage lights. Do you remember the last time that a reviewer did NOT recommend the light they are testing, think about it, the answer is never.
@gregkramer55882 жыл бұрын
OMG, stay away from me! If it bothers you that much just get 4 of the lights designed for a 3x3. It is not a challenge from an engineering perspective it is economic. The size of the box they ship in I am sure is also a constraint. It is not technology it is profitability that creates the takeoffs that bother you.

This light was designed and sold as a 5x5 light. When you use this light in a 5x5 space this light does not have an even PAR map, not even close, therefore, a garbage design for a 5x5 tent.
