Never thought about it being harder to get into Finnish uni. Wow! This is a great video! Great to learn more about other countries/cultures way of living.

My advice for anyone considering coming to study in Finland is to know what you want to learn. Different universities or university of applied sciences sort of specialize in their fields. Like their overall degree name might actually be the same, but the universities offer different courses. They have a a different focus in their field. One might focus on technological parts on the field and another research etc. So if you want to study something specific, make sure you pick the right university for you. Also some of the professions are only offered either in university or UAS. Example, you want to be a doctor, you go to university if you want to be a nurse then UAS is your place.

Hi! Thanks for the video this gives quite a great perspective as im about to undertake my master and uni of helsinki is right on my radar! Love the country, the environment, but what id like to ask is that whats the general style of learning and study management in there? Thank yo u

Thats good to hear! Most of the subjects are taught in the usual way of having lectures and assigned textbooks with an exam or multiple assignments at the end. But there are also field subjects and practical subjects doing larger investigations/reports, and of course the masters thesis which is a large-scale long-term project. Hopefully that's sort of helpful for what you're asking? That was my experience in a science degree but I suppose it varies a bit depending on what you study

Okay, yeah it seems like lots of countries are going that way, it will probably be the same for Australia in the future

Yeah education has always been highly regarded in Finland and teaching is a respected profession. That has roots in history when the young Finnish culture was built up. In Finland showing wealth is easily seen as a bad haviour, much easier to brag about a good education :)
