I filmed this a few weeks ago but kept it back because we were making good progress on the Saxon House. Decided to put it up and it's very different to my usual film. It's only short because we did about 6 miles of hiking along the coast and to be honest I wanted to spend some quality time with Jaxx rather than getting the camera out all the time. The scenery was just awesome too. I hope you enjoy it anyway! Got some great films coming your way over the next few weeks :)

Just wondering what made you decide on a Jack Russell bread ? Awesome video by the way. Sometimes you need time to yourself and having a dog is the best thing. Trust me i know. I have anxiety and depression and my fur baby Frankie who is a cavalier king Charles spaniel has been a dream. She helps me so much. She is also 3 years old.

Nothing better than a man (or woman) the wilderness and your dog. I had great adventures with my last two labs over the years hiking, hunting and fishing. Dogs were allowed to be dogs, and I think they enjoyed it even more than I. I am currently dog less and enjoy you watching you take jaxx out. I work 12 hour shifts currently and not fair to the dog especially the puppy stage to get another one at the moment. Couple more years to retirement before I get another dog and hope to enjoy the great outdoors with him in the years to come. In the meantime Ill live vicariously through videos like this. Thanks Mike!

Glad you put jaxx on a lead near sheer cliff drops...many dog has been lost this way. They don’t know it’s a cliff top, that plunges hundreds of feet. It’s the same with dogs near lakes with thin ice..better be safe then sorry. Keep them on leash .

Good advice. I passed a sheer cliff in southern England last year with a dog and was advised to leash it as they had lost THREE dogs in the last fortnight to the cliff and the local emergency rescue services does not respond to dog falls.

Very well done video, Jaxx is a nice fellow. I have a German Spitz puppy, and he loves the outdoors. He is quite vigilant when we are at our cabin for an overnighter, much more so than at home. I think being out in the wilderness for an extended period of time, not just a walk, is very important to feed your dog's senses and instincts. My dog always seems to be very happy and rested after these trips.

Jaxx reminds me of our JR. At the beginning of one camp trip, we let her out of the car and she disappeared! [Being really late, we didn't want to start hollering for her, and wake any other campers.] But about 30 seconds later, she came staggering back, tripping over this huge opossum she'd caught. After making sure we admired it, she dropped it, jumped back in the car, all ready to go. We had many adventures with her, and I look forward to more of Jaxx in your vids.
