This 300 year old law needs to be expunged. Sounds like a bunch ignorant people, crying bc they werent smart enough to know the LAW, and are struggling to keep their own mortgage paid. The possessor revived that property. And the neighbors didnt seem to mind, whose opinions are the only ones that matter. Its in the books, and lays out LEGAL steps to possess as your own, for a reason.

Glad to see police arresting someone who tries to steal someone else's property with this adverse possession law which needs to be removed from the books that puts a the opportunity for people to steal other people's homes with a living in it or not this law needs to be removed homeowners need to be protected as well as people who rent homes

I think this is what is going on right now a few doors down, research 1957 Sans Souci Blvd, North Miami, FL 33181 if interested or can help, Police have not been able to remove they guy, property has no owner (dead, no family) ans has been decaying abandoned for 3+ years

Let's see. According to the adverse possessor here, it's acceptable for him to squat in someone else's home, and when the homeowner returns home, the squatter should not have to leave. Poor squatter. Maybe the squatter should do something honest like getting a job to pay for a place to live. It is time we end most if not all adverse possession and squatter's rights. There is something so wrong with a legal system which allows these home invading criminals to take what others have earned that it just screams for change. There is no reason why a homeowner should have to treat a squatter any differently than any other criminal home invader.
