Hello my name is Stephen Taylor and in 2016 I bought a derelict shop in Birkenhead, U.K for £26,000 at auction.
This building was in such a poor state that the guide price at auction was just £10,000 - £12,000.
With a lot of hard work over the last five years I have now transformed it into a modern four bedroom home.
I have worked as a joiner for 20 years and on this project I did as much of the work as possible myself to save money.
I have also spent the last year writing an ebook about this project which is available on my website.

Hi just watched your video today really enjoyed your journey with the refurbishment of the shop and house in Borough Road.. Being in the building trade myself l appreciate all the hard work you have put into bringing the property up to date... I used to live opposite to that shop in 356 Borough Road sadly no longer there.. David Dobbin ran a insurance brokers in that shop and he used to supply all my insurance needs.. Employers liability..Public liability and van insurance that was around 30 or 40 years ago. Spent many hours in David's office chatting to him and his lovely staff..
