We're finally back... we seemed more solid at the back... and stronger at the front... even if we conceded something... Nottingham Forest looked clear... they seemed fine... but we managed to contain them... also achieving a clean sheet! the presence of KDB and Doku... was crucial for us... they gave us the shock that we had been missing for a while... also Jacky G... in the middle of the pitch... I think that with him in that position... we were more dangerous and unpredictable in attack... it was nice to see... with their presence on the pitch... the whole team seemed to benefit too! Big Erl didn't score yesterday... but he made himself fundamental both in attack (playing with his back to goal, to help the team come forward) and in defence... playing a fundamental role for us... Bernardo and Gundo lined up there in midfield in front of the defense... they played well... recovering some balls... and doing a lot of dirty work... but very useful for the cause... the defense managed to contain it well and remain solid even in the most difficult moments of the game for us... Ortega was superb... he saved us several times from enemy attacks! I believe that yesterday... we saw the real Man City... but we have room for growth... we can definitely expect that the level shown yesterday on the pitch... can progress in the following months! it may seem that I am so confident... it's true we conceded good scoring opportunities to Nottingham Forest... making the usual mistakes... which could have cost us dearly for the work done on the pitch... but as a City fan... I believe that Pep and his staff... will work on the mistakes... to be able to transform them into favorable and decisive situations for us!

This game pretty much shows us that our midfield was working again! We were up against an amazing team. Pep, why couldnt you find this solution in midfield with Jack before? Perhaps he just came back from injuries.

At last. What we said before the match is to put Jack in the centre behind Haaland. Combining him with Kev, this appears to be the way forward. It allows the wide players to thrive and that enabled Doku to score - and what a goal. He terrified the Forest defence. Pep has to maintain this formation and even if kev goes off injured, jack should play in the same position. It's what suited him at Villa and when we played them previously, Grealish was the danger man and pep recognised this. I don't remeber Ake having injury problems previously. However, I would still play Gvardiol at CB and Ake at left back for security.

The irony is that Haaland has been starving for supply an finally KDB plays and Haaland is the one who had to set up others which he did 2 or 3 times. No service in return from anyone, what so ever. Doku does some good things in between but he is so selfish. He never tries to play the ball in to Haaland quickly, but instead he always dtibble and tries to shoot himself. Very rarely he scores from those shots. 99 out of 100 times his crosses or «tries» goes straight into he oppositions feet. Doku must be the most frustrating player for Haaland. He never receives the ball from him and its like Haaland allready knows it when Doku has the ball. He doesnt try to run in position as when others have the bal, cause the ball never comes to him. Haaland in contrast, set up Doku for a goal. Not only did he play the ball through to him but he sprinted up to take the focus of the defenders so that Doku could do his thing. Why isnt anyone giving Haaland the same service? Not fun being a striker when ypu have players like that around you.. Starting KDB which Pep should have done the last 3 games, instead of puttting him on when there is 15 min left) gave more opportunities in the attack (even though KDB seems to have forgotten how to play Haaland theough)…Cant bel8eve Pep didnt see that until now. Its better to start him and take him off than the other way around.
