His words to me were "un-ass the vehicle nigga, an you might see tamarrah!!" As I gently opened the door I vigorously reached for his weapon. I flipped him over my car door, he was now upside down in my car. I slammed the door on head and chest several time before pulling him out and calling the police. I was 4 years away from retiring as a Marine. That individual was severely injured and was incarcerated. I pressed charges. I just can't stand thief or a liar. That vehicle owner should have lit into those lil thugz with his keys sticking out of his fists if that's all he had. Until he could get his hands on one of those screwdrivers! DAMN!! But to just stand there??!! I don't know. Some of us are just cut from different cloths!

He could pull a gun but if they choose to keep on doing what they are doing, what can you do. You can't shoot someone that is stealing your car. You can only use lethal force when you live is in danger. If he pulled a gun and then they pull a knife or tried to attack him, then he probably could shoot them. If someone car jacks you and they have a gun, then by all means, shoot them. But otherwise, you would be the one that goes to prison.

I think you’re mistaking the story about the Kenosha man shooting. It was a female juvenile who stole his car while at a gas station and was running. The man went inside while the girl and her friend decided to steal the car. One was successful while the other one didn’t get inside the car. The man saw the female take his car and decided to shoot at his OWN car which is illegal, because #1, the thief didn’t have a weapon, #2, the thief wasn’t using the vehicle as a weapon such as trying to run him or other people over, #3, the man was shooting recklessly and missing majority of his shots at his vehicle even though it wasn’t a threat, therefore he was charged with reckless use of a firearm. He did hit the thief once, but shooting multiple times and missing is dangerous. That’s why range time and courses are recommended. It all comes down to the situation. In this video, even if the camera guy had a firearm, he couldn’t shoot them because they aren’t a threat or exposing a deadly weapon (the screwdriver could be considered but no). Now if the kids did have a deadly weapon such as a firearm, he could then possibly shoot them IF they pointed it at him or others around the area. Castle doctrine doesn’t work since he wasn’t inside the car at the time they broke in. If he was inside the car, and he had no possible way of getting away from them while they were exposing a deadly weapon at him, then that’s when the castle doctrine applies.

They should use the video footage to identify and arrest the two criminals, and if they are under the age of 18, their parents should be held accountable as accomplices after the fact. Then there is the fact that many who are rich, or connected to people of power, will never do any real-time in prison for committing numerous crimes. It's not an issue of double-standards, but more like a dozen different standards.... its stupid and corrupt. It is part of the reason why there needs to be federal standards for everything from gun laws, to rape laws, to what constitutes "murder" versus "manslaughter". Plenty of situations where a criminal tries to actively murder a cop with a deadly weapon, but gets off with only a few months of jailtime for "aggravated assault", whereas an innocent civilian who accidentally bumps a cop with their car gets 30 years in prison for attempted murder.... smh..... so much stupidity, corruption, & inconsistency.
