Oh man a ticking clock! I also did something spontaneous today, i have been very busy with work so i just got up and went for a walk and took some pictures for the first day of autumn. May not sound that exciting but its those really little things that can break up a busy day. Well done on 1M Subs :)

I can't sleep in dead silence, I have to have a sound in the background (I have the bedroom at the front of the house and there's a main road outside, so I'm used to hearing cars going past) I find it oddly relaxing, but a noise like a clock REALLY bugs me, I can't have a clock in my bedroom because of this annoyance, so I know how you feel.

I researched my family tree a while back, and my first ancestor on my dad's side came to America from Ireland in 1852. Through his side, supposedly, came our dark(ish) complexion. And by dark, i mean black hair and dark eyes and tanning extremely well. Many find that to be very contradictory to Ireland, but my grandpa told me that we are "black irish" b/c his ancestors went all the way back to the sinking of the Spanish Armada. Family legend has it that a Spaniard washed up on the shores of Ireland and knocked up this irish broad. This started the whole dark complexion thing. I don't know how true all of this is, but it sure is fun to talk about when 5 Guinness pints deep at the pub

Weirdly enough I find a ticking clock to be really peaceful and relaxing! I guess I just like the consistency it just puts me right to sleep! Might also have something to do with the fact that my parents had a really loud ticking clock at home growing up and it reminds me of that :)
