Trump dismantled the EPA. We do not have an EPA anymore thanks to Trump. And these bacterias do not come from sewage. They exist in the sand and water. Under very warm conditions they become active. It is up to the state to follow the EPA guidelines and to enforce regulations that protect the people. Trump gutted the EPA, and you probably voted for him because you are too lazy to learn anything about who you are voting for. It is Texas republican officials that don't do anything for you or me and that only look out for the wealthy donors that own the factories that pollute.

More reason to not go in the water at the beach. I seen videos about sharks waiting close by the shallow part of the water to take people in and another video of poop being all over the water at another beach as well. Problem is, people are seeing all of these things going on in the water and are like, hmm... I think I'll take a dip. Wonder what's next when it comes to these beaches?

What a shame, and I always thought this country had taken great strides against water pollution. Here on the East coast it's the same problems. After heavy rains local sewage treatment plants cant handle the Extra influx of water and it results In untreated discharges into local water ways. Uncontrolled development along the coasts doesn't help either.
@bobvila6437
@bobvila6437 3 жыл бұрын
This always happens. I ask myself why hasn't anyone done something to prepare sewage treatment plants for storms with some kind of overflow recervoirs and prevent the overflow that results in raw sewage ending up in the ocean and washing up onto the beaches. Also the extra influx of storm water could probably be diverted into clean reservoirs and filtered. Any use would be better than this tragedy. Here in California, we recently had such a spill and a few beaches were closed right in the middle of summer.

Yes. Just had a debate about this topic. I read that 55 of 61 beaches in Texas are contaminated with fecal matter. Environment Texas' report calls for infrastructure upgrades to prevent sewage overflows and prevent runoff pollution. People are more prone to get some sort of infection if they go into those waters.

this was also frequent during the late 80's or early 90's if I remember the dates correctly. BUT was not due to water or the beach. Can't remember the cause back then.
