You know, I'm a child trafficking survivor and now a human trafficking advocate and forensic interviewer. What makes me sad and concerned about victims is when the public responds to these these incidents in ways that aren't remotely helpful. Disney, which I don't love, did not do this. Traffickers will perpetrate anywhere they can access vulnerable people. Which includes church, schools, even LEOs. Most kids are trafficked by their own family. Let's focus on supporting legislation and legislators that want to put funding towards this. He showcases the fact they are immigrants. However , every week in my job and my little agency in my small town I encounter traffickers who are AMERICAN CITIZENS. More Americans are guilty of trafficking here. So to focus on illegals , is important but it ignores the larger demographics of perps. Also, the Republican Congress is diverting funding from VOCA (look it up, Victims of Crime Act) which funds agencies that help trafficking victims to use in war efforts. Agencies are having to close and that is costing the safety and well being of child victims. Point being this is complex as hell and if you aren't working the front lines , your comments are not informed or helpful. Grady is great at catching bad guys but I'm sad he's politicizing it as anti immigration fodder. We can not focus on one population of perps bc it allows many others to escape.

She has been denied over and over because she makes less than $60 to much a month… she makes less than $1300 a month in social security. I know of a situation where the husband and toddler was living in another Southern country. The wife was able to come and go from the US. She died after childbirth in the US.
