I hate that. It is like playing games. He barely talked. My ex tried to do that too. she would hold me responsible for her baby's needs while baby daddy enjoyed her. She would come to me all the time only for money and to buy her things. But one thing was clear, there was no patternity question bcuz i simply didnt sleep with her but she kept her baby daddy off his responsibilities bcuz the dude was poor. I finally gave her cold shoulder and middle finger simultaneously.

I agree- mainly because he says he knew her family. There's some details missing here because if he knew her family, how did he not know her mom died. But there are ways to find a person - I know a man who had 2 kids with a woman . He left her and because she was mad about him leaving her - she left and took the kids and he couldn't find them . He was not ok with that because he wanted to be apart of his kids lives- so he hired a private detective and found them- so there's always a way.

Their body language at the end spoke volumes! DNA results aside, the daughter seems close to Mr Garcia, who came riding in on a white horse only after Mr Patton did all the work. it's not always easy finding someone. people marry/divorce, names change, people move etc. i know someone who searched for years to find his half-brother. he wasn't successful until he searched the website Intelius, a few years back. but back in the day, there was no internet, so people who couldn't afford to hire a private detective relied on phone book searches, and old contacts from neighborhoods, etc. so its an assumption to say that 'surely he could've done this long ago.' it's somewhat presumptuous to just assume that.

And tbh many states will not even acknowledge a man if he says he thinks he's the father and the mother says he's not. So if the law isn't in favor of fathers what is the man supposed to do? Some states won't even acknowledge a man EVEN IF HE'S ON THE BIRTH CERTIFICATE IF THEY WEREN'T EVER MARRIED. north Carolina is one of those states. That woman put another man on the birth certificate and then she died. What was he supposed to do? There's nothing he could do but wait until she got grown. Its the mothers responsibility its her body and she knew what she did with it and she kept the paternity secret not him.

What was he supposed to do? I could see if her mother went back and forth on whether or not the baby was his. But her mother told him he WAS NOT the father. Do you think her mother would have allowed him to take the baby for a DNA test? More than likely she would have told him once again it was not his baby so there would be no test. I noticed at the end when she stood between both dads, Mr. Garcia moved closer. This is sad and beautiful at the same time. Mr. Patin paid child support for 18 years and helped raise a child that wasn’t his. I feel for him. For some strange reason though, I don’t think Mr. Garcia looked hard enough for his daughter. He knew of Mr. Patin, knew that the mother said Mr. Patin was the father, and Mr. Patin knew Mr. Garcia’s family members. Mr. Garcia should’ve been looking for Mr. Patin for those 25 years since he was an adult and would’ve been easier to track down back then. Thank goodness for social media.
