This is why I avoid Whatnot in general, except for a few select sellers. Once I meant to bid $40 on a coin that jumped to $62 by the time I actually swiped... and then I was high bidder. I didn't know about the ability to cancel. Those bids can fly way too fast!

When I was a teenager and not to internet savvy, my Stepdad let me browse eBay on his computer, and I got all giddy when I saw what I thought was a great stereo at a great price, so I bid something like £150, on my Stepdads account. He went ballistic, I’d bid on just the owners manual, I was sold on the picture of the stereo, lol We live, we learn,…. 🍻

I bought a 120 ufc glove ounce of silver I feel asleep then in an hour or so I had feel asleep and had bought a 120 ounce of silver and the person selling on Whatnot wouldn't let me cancel. Whatnot support told me I could send it back when I got it but that would be a week or so later.I just kept it for a lesson. I don't buy from the seller anymore. But I had to sale more coins to pay for it.

I buy from Whatnot all the time. I just don't see how this is possible, unless the seller started the coin for 1300, and nobody else bid on it and this guy just happened to swipe while he was sleeping. I mean, technically, it IS that easy to buy something. And that coin as is greysheets for 1400. All he has to do is sit on it for a bit and sell it to another coin collector and make 100 bucks.

I was bidding on a 1/2 gram of Gold and the price at the time was $28. I clicked on the 28 and hit the backspace button and set my price to $38. Just as I hit the button to place my bid, the original $28 popped back on the screen WITH my $38 bid. So now I had a max bid of $3828 for a half gram! Thankfully I was only...ONLY ran up to $69 before it ended with me clearly being the high bidder.🤦‍♂️ Never trust the back button to set your bid. This will happen nearly everytime. I just figured out the you have to double click the max bid to reset it to zero, BEFORE placing your "custom bid" If you just swipe to bid, and someone else bids at the same time...your $35 bid may end up being a higher bid.
