I’ve now been happily married for 38 years to a man who feels the same way about cheating spouses being a no-no and a total deal breaker. Gonna have to disagree respectfully with you here, Sam. If a man has a wife, and that wife is a traditional stay-at-home-mother, that man is 100% financially responsible for her and the children. It’s their money, not just his. She is preforming labour for him and raising his offspring, who most likely bear his last name, not hers. She has taken herself out of the workforce to be a loyal companion, nurturer, and caregiver for his and the children’s needs. A man is therefor obligated to support her and provide for her. Any man who gets greedy about assets that should be shared is not a traditional man, and would not make a good husband. It’s completely disrespectful to the wife to say she isn’t due anything when she labours for the household. But that’s just my opinion as a semi-tradwife, take it or leave it.
