You should do an episode where you put real nutritionists vs tiktok "nutritionists"
@CarysCreatesThingsАй бұрын
Registered dietitians vs TikTok “nutritionists” would be better. Nutritionist isn’t a regulated profession, so anyone can technically call themselves a “nutritionist”. In contrast, to be a dietitian, you need a minimum of a masters degree and to be registered with the Health & Care Professions Council.
@kelseyevers3320Ай бұрын

Oooo also actual real therapists vs social media life coaches….sooooo much to unpack there
@CarysCreatesThingsАй бұрын
@@kelseyevers3320I know that, that’s why I specified TikTok “nutritionists” (inverted commas intentional). I wasn’t referring to qualified nutritionists. As I said, anybody can promote themselves as a nutritionist whether they’re qualified or not because it’s not a protected term, whereas it’s illegal to claim you’re a dietitian unless you’re qualified and registered. There are a lot of unaccredited organisations selling online courses with a certificate at the end. People take these courses then claim they’re certified nutritionists but their certification isn’t accredited or recognised by any governing body. Those are the “nutritionists” I’m referring to.

I'm so happy Xinia called out the fact that it's wrong to assume that women go to the gym to build their physiques for men. I have a connective tissue disorder and my doctor advised me to start weight lifting in order to build more muscle to help support my joints and decrease pain. Saying that women are just going to the gym for male approval is a really careless statement to make. A lot of us go to better our health and improve our quality of life. Not only that, but also so that we love what WE see in mirror. Not anyone else. I can't tell you how many times men have complimented me for being skinny (almost underweight, mind you) but even though guys seem to like that, I don't care. I want to be big, strong, and healthy. If you’re there to focus on yourself, why does it matter if someone is setting up a camera, wearing tight outfits… I most of the time wear hoodies and sweats because I like to sweat but I don’t care at all that my gym partner wears tight outfits and short shorts. I’m focused on me and so is she. Just different comfort levels. Same goal tho. She’s also petite and I’m more… voluptuous, so she gets away with more tight outfits without things spilling out. She also takes more pictures to track progress and I’m not really doing that. So many men think that girls wear cute fits, do their hair, makeup, for men, but they do it for more self confidence, and you need that as motivation.

Men work out shirtless in the gym all the time, so why is it an issue if women wear more revealing gym clothes? For me, wearing shorts and lighter gym outfits helps with sensory issues related to sweating-it’s about comfort and practicality, not attention. The fact that women are still blamed for how others behave towards them because of what they wear is so gross and rooted in borderline rape culture rhetoric. This is one of the main reasons I avoid going to the gym, and I know so many other girls feel the same way.
@nashi._.7563Ай бұрын
It depends on the gym. It’s usually frowned upon if men workout shirtless. It’s usually seen as egotistical and unhygienic to be sweating on equipment. The only exception I think of is perhaps a CrossFit or calisthenics gym
@annabelle9561Ай бұрын
@ I understand your point about shirtless men being frowned upon for hygiene reasons, but that’s not really what I’m talking about. My issue is with the double standard that men wearing tank tops or other minimal clothing is generally accepted, but if a woman wears something like a sports bra and leggings, it’s suddenly a problem. It’s frustrating that women’s clothing is so often scrutinized and policed in ways men’s isn’t.

4:20 The statement made by the woman in pink, suggesting that women exercise their glutes solely to attract male attention, is reflective of a harmful mindset akin to victim-blaming, such as when a woman’s attire is scrutinized after she has been assaulted. This perspective undermines women’s autonomy and perpetuates the problematic notion that their actions or existence are inherently an invitation for sexualization. I’m just so baffled by how casually she just said what she said, as if it’s just a given fact. Well about the women who already have that natural big butt? Do they also want men to look at them?
