You just sat like RIGHT in front of my video.” I told her I’ll be done in 10 minutes 🤷‍♂️ she rolled her eyes and sat their texting the whole time. I'm fine with people charting their progress, and I don't even mind being in their videos. But not everyone feels that way, and nobody should find themselves on the internet without their informed consent.

My gym introduced a no cameras policy two weeks ago, since then the TikTok girls have disappeared and it's been a much better place. The gym on the other side of town yesterday announced they were going camera free at the end of January. Hopefully this is spreading country wide.

I wouldn't even mind cameras if people just wanted to film their form, or their progress. However, what I do mind is 1) when they have a weird attitude that because their camera is there, nobody is allowed to walk past it or get in the shot, because its a public space not their private film studio, and 2) If they go out of their way to film others who are just going about their business, and then put the footage online to criticise or embarrass them. However, the fact that people can't be trusted not to do these kinds of things means that I'd prefer a gym with a camera ban, because then I don't have to deal with those nonsense behaviours.
