@sk8ergrrl14 жыл бұрын
Yes, it’s incredibly risky, but think of the environmental impact of leaving however many plastic golf balls in the lake. The alligators and other creatures could try and eat them and end up dying. And what if the golf balls just kept building up because no one is diving to collect the balls, would they then end up with a pit of old golf balls instead of a lake? Of course, one could argue on the other hand that they should stop playing golf near alligator infested lakes or round up the alligators and put them somewhere else.

You know, things like that may be stupid, but to say something like that about a persons life is possibly one of the worst things you can say and just makes you a horrible person, and I assure you, if you were one of those golfers, you wouldn’t have “rooted for the alligator” you would be the one screaming for help and crying because you don’t know how to help, you would be traumatized from watching someone die a painful and slow death just meters away from you and not being able to help, don’t act all high and mighty.

Im a Florida boy born and raised. Alligators definitely are dangerous and should be respected and understood. That said you can swim in alligator water . I wouldn't swim in crocodile water for the life of me but gators are different. They really aren't as dangerous as crocs. It's like black bears and grizzly bears . Black bears are dangerous but you can safely camp in black bear territory. I'd be much more reluctant to camp in grizzly country.

I imagine it’s not very environmentally friendly to leave all those golf balls in the river. What if creatures tried to eat them? And what if they just kept piling up until there’s no lake left, just a pit of old golf balls. If you decide to enter an alligator's territory, you cannot blame the gator for that. It's not as if he shuffled into your living room and started attacking.....you chose to go into HIS home. So, why are you angry about the outcome? Surely this guy knew there were gators there and an attack was not only possible, but LIKELY? If you want to avoid gator attacks, it's quite simple....avoid areas that you KNOW they live in. Not exactly rocket science, my dude. If your sons are now afraid, that isn't the fault of the gator and wanting revenge on an animal for defending its turf or for doing what it does naturally, is stupid. Petty and ridiculous. Be grateful you survived and leave nature the hell alone if you have that little respect for it.
@mizzouranger1343 жыл бұрын
Him sharing the water with an alligator doesn’t mean he deserves to be attacked. Have you ever been in a lake or the ocean?? Do you drive a car?? Ever? If so then why do you put yourself at risk? That’s so stupid! Cars are way way way more dangerous than alligators. A couple people at most are killed by alligators every year versus tens to hundreds of thousands by cars every year. More people are killed by vending machines a year than by sharks. So the only uneducated reckless thing here is you.

Have you ever read " Moby Dick" By Herman Melville? The whole point of that novel revolves around the fact that you can´t take revenge on an animal. It tells the story of a19th-century ship captain, Captain Ahab, who spends his entire time pursiung a whale that bit off his leg.
