i think we did have someone living in our attic at one of our houses a long time ago. we would hear lots of rustling coming from above, especially when it was dead quiet & everyone was sleeping or just playing a game quietly before going to bed. my sister says she thought she saw someone run past behind her while she was doing her makeup once. i would hear what sounded like my moms screen to her window getting moved, & even saw it removed from the frame when none of us had done it.. my friend, who was living with us, probably experienced the worst shit though: one night, when my friend was the only one home, she was playing some games & went out to the kitchen to make a snack. the front door was wide open (it was locked previously), with our cats & dogs out front. she quickly got them back inside & locked the door. she grabbed a large butcher knife & went looking around, seeing that the screen was removed from my moms window AGAIN with the window slightly open. she couldnt find anyone, but she slept with a knife under her pillow that night there were a lot of weird things that happened in that house that points to someone living in the attic honestly. we would also run out of some food items really fast; like, much faster than normal this is honestly so much scarier than some ghost or goblin or whatever. if they were real, id much rather have a ghost haunting my attic, than some weirdo spying on me who could like actually kill me

I moved into my current apartment about a year ago. I would wake up to fucked up noises coming from my attic. Something large shuffling, some electrical whirring, something that sounded like cutlery on a plate, just weird shit. I live alone and I'm a tall guy that likes to think he can handle himself but I was shitting myself big time. One day a friend was over and the backup gave me the courage to go into the attic and honestly shit was fucking crazy. In the far right corner, above my bedroom, there was what looked like an old military army sleeping mat on top of some kind of safety mat you'd see in a gymnasium. On top of that was a red and a blue sleeping bag and used plates with scraps of food on! That wasn't even the weirdest shit, though. There was an old CRT computer. One of those ugly, heavy, cream-coloured motherfuckers from the 90s, and a few old ass games that had to be loaded via CD (Dark Crusade, Age of Empires, Stronghold... Good ass games tbh). It was all plugged into an extension cord leading to some OTHER attic entrance. Unbeknownst to me, I shared an attic with the entire apartment block that was beside my apartment. Their entrance was in a communal corridor and my entrance was in MY corridor. I called the police and let the building owners know and they've since had the attics separated but to this day nobody knows who was living in my attic or for how long they were there. Shit still scares me to be honest, what if he comes back? I'm moving out as soon as the contract is over lmfao.

If it were me I would have just started gaming on his computer, waiting for him to return. When he got back, I would just compliment him on his sick gamer setup. He's probably a cool guy, I'd offer for him to play some mariokart with me in my living room. Also if he wants to continue to stay in the attic, please split the utilities. I can remodel it into an actually halfway decently comfortable interior.

It's scarier than any demon, ghost, or ghoul, it's a wild Crackhead. Legends say that a wild Crackhead only has a 0000000000.1% chance of spawning in your house as they generally prefer the abandoned building biome. Be careful when dealing with one as they are known for their aggression and unpredictability, they don't have high hp but if enraged they gain an adrenaline boost, a defense buff that makes them immune to any staggers and boosts damage.

I remember 2 old stories from a while back, the first being a homeless man got arrested for living in someone’s attic, which didn’t take long for the owners to find out, and the previous owner of a house living in a secret secluded room in the basement. I’m pretty sure if I remember correctly that there was also a secret passageway to get in the room from outside the house. Note: Homeless people living on your land is way more common than you would think. Especially in poverty-stricken areas.

based on the reclusiveness, my guess is schizophrenic. he either hallucinated the family talking about him or thinks they're going to, so he started making a way to watch them to make sure they wouldn't. it makes sense when you're unwell. :/ meds r needed but they're often too paranoid to take them. had a friend of a friend who was forcibly given a shot every 3 months bc when she was unwell she thought her meds contained cameras that would crawl out of her mouth when she slept (evidence: she drooled on her pillow. insisted it never happened before they started giving her the pills. her family claims she drooled even as a baby) & when she was stable she insisted she was cured and didn't need them anymore. violently.

Here's something to think about the four other stories: They start and end with their recordings. Even if the couple recorded their encounter with the creeping neighbor, there would still have been a court case and investigation. Yet for the other four, it seems like they started and ended with their recording. If someone saw a humanoid in their attic or on their roof, the cops would have gotten involved, especially with video proof. And the one of the guy being in a box, if he somehow killed the family and ran without getting caught, than why did he not also destroy the device that recorded him or delete the video?

I just love the irl effect perspective from a home video camera. The real fear factor is finding someone in your own home that isnt supposed to be there. And they are way too close for comfort. In videos like this, hearing the horror in their voices is contageous to the viewer, these are far more horrifying than any other horror movie i have ever seen. Besides Sinister. I'm not surprised there was a water heater in an attic. Speaking as someone who works in the HVAC field, I've had to replace FURNACES in attics. I remember going to this job to a house in a shore area one time. The air conditioner was on a raised platform. This was so if the warea flooded, the air conditioner wouldn't get submerged. So to someone who works in heating and air conditioning, a water heater in an attic is unusual, but not wierd.

you know, i've been watching a lot of these scary comp channels recently and i've gotta say, living in a midfloor apartment of a complex built this century is the ultimate defense against all things "scary", paranormal or otherwise. @stammesbruder2 жыл бұрын
Sure, but these responses are still triggered based on circumstance. There is no strict tendency for people to go one way or another - such observations are a result of a selective bias. If you genuinely think on a subconscious level, that you can take the threat on (or achieve a different goal - such as helping people around you to survive), you are more likely to have a fight response. But the situation in the video in particular has a very bad dynamic for anyone experiencing it. First off, of all the things that could surprise you in your attic, you would not ever think of a person in your attic. Second, you wouldn't expect them to be waiting and watching through a mostly closed box. Third, them having successfully invaded your privacy is a huge power play on their part - it invokes confusion over how and why they are here, and the mere fact that they have invaded your privacy with such stealth creates the idea of malicious intent as well as serving as a testament to their skill. Fourth, seeing how this guy was mostly hidden, leaving to question whether he was armed, or how buff he is, you don't have a lot of inputs to evaluate it as anything more but a serious threat. In spaces where we feel comfortable and safe, such as our own home, we are the most vulnerable. I don't care how tough you are, your immediate response is going to be fear and make you either freeze or flee in such a situation. At least as a first reaction. That response might change once the immediate shock wears off, or you have additional information to react to (such as seeing their bare hands i.e. them being unarmed).

The box guy reminds me of this one time when I was in college. It was night and I left my dorm for a minute to go smoke on this short trail that branched off one of the exits. It was almost pitch black out and the trees were cutting up the light from the nearby parking lot. I got about halfway down the trail and looked off to the side and could see this form about five feet off the side of the trail that I thought was a tree trunk. I looked closer and could make out an outline of somebody just sitting there. Dark hoodie, not moving, not even responding to me waving my hand in their face and saying "hello?". Needless to say I hoofed it back to my room and kind of forgot about it. Still creeps me out to this day because that part of the campus was known for girls getting attacked late at night.
