FILM DESCRIPTION:
As the planet of Krypton crumbles, General Zod (Michael Shannon) stages a coup as concerned leader Jor-El (Russell Crowe) and his wife send their infant son Kal-El to a distant world called Earth. While the young child travels through space with an object containing the DNA of his home planet, General Zod and his cohorts are sentenced to an eternity in a black-hole prison. Named Clark and raised by kindly farmers Jonathan (Kevin Costner) and Martha Kent (Diane Lane), young Kal-El lives in fear of what might happen should his neighbors learn about his extraterrestrial origins, eventually exploring the world in search of himself. In time, Clark's travels take him to a frozen tundra, where the American government has discovered an 18,000-year-old anomaly buried deep in the ice. Daily Planet reporter Lois Lane (Amy Adams) has just come to investigate when, after venturing out with her camera, she has a profound encounter with Clark. The thing I love about this particular scene is that not only is his biological father giving him the wisdom he needed at this time, but he also teaches him to keep testing all that he does in life, no matter what it is. The cinematography of this whole scene with him taking flight for the first time and testing his limits. At this moment he is coming into who he is as a child of Krytonian and a child of Earth.

People complain about Superman destroying everything in this movie. But I have two responses. 1. He just barely learned how to fly. So he's not going to be perfect. He's going to crash into buildings. 2. Zod was the one who did most of the damage with his precious world engine.

And in addition to that, there are several times during each fight that Superman tries to take the battle elsewhere and got rebuffed each time. 1. In the Smallville battle, he grabs Faora and starts flying her out of the city, only for Nam-Ek to tackle him back to the ground before he can get very far. 2. He knocks Nam-Ek into a train yard far from the immediate city so he can focus on Faora. Nam-Ek gets up and hurls the train back at Superman 3. He takes the fight with Zod into the air so nobody on the ground will get get hurt 4. Superman takes Zod INTO SPACE as far as he could possibly be from people, but Zod takes control and knocks Superman back into Metropolis.

What? Superman flew perfectly from this scene and onwards. He never once got clumsy and then accidentally tripped into a building. Anytime he did, he was either pushed OR pushing someone. 2. Yes but Superman also played his part in it.

2. Superman had to react quick since if he is too slow then Nam-Ek could get a hit in. 3. Superman was trying to overpower Zod and was focusing so much on Zod that he kinda got careless and during the whole fight he only had like two moments in which he tried to take Zod down but Zod being the better fighter kept kicking superman's ass. 4. Zod took the fight to space but quickly realized his mistake and brought superman back down.

This is excellent foreshadowing from Zack Snyder and it shows that he does have a great understanding of the character even if it's not the Superman that you know and love. Zack is trying to tell the story of Superman in different movies so you can build a connection with him over time. You can't expect Superman to be the hero from the comics in just one movie, expecially when the world being portayed in the movie is similar to ours.

Juan Carlos Henng Guel I don't think he was upset that people were bashing him for doing the right thing but more over the fact that people were not being as hopeful sinc he introduced himself to the world I mean it was clear people learned to love Superman metropolis build a statue in his name alongside a memorial remembering all those lost in zod's destruction of the city. Lois even stated that his symbol gave people hope. I think what upset Clark more is the fact that people weren't becoming hopeful but rather very dependent on the man people began to worship him in some weird way it made him feel uneasy as you can tell in the scene where he saves the little girl from a fire he went from a nice little smile to a serious and uneasy frown once all the people started touching him like he was some sort of Messiah. His father stated that he would give the people of Earth an ideal to strive for but once he showed himself to the world people weren't striving to do anything rather they were looking as Superman as someone who well always be their to pick up after them. Think of this way if your parents decided to help you out once you reached a certain age but you were not striving to due better rather just hoping your parents keep on supporting you chances are your parents would began to feel upset and depressed but they can't just leave you their I think this is how Superman is viewing the situation he is in right now.

A scene of a military AWACS operator (or radar operator) pointing at an unknown blip on their radar that keeps changing speed from near-zero to multi-mach, descending to less than a hundred feet then back up to over 20 miles up, each time within a few seconds? Maybe have a couple people in suits and glasses confiscating the records and telling the radar operators that nothing was seen. Or at least a mention of it later on in the movie when Superman is 'prisoner' at the base.
