Biñan’s rich history, colorful traditions coupled with divine heritage and local culture are what made this hand crafted costume.
We are known to be the puto capital of laguna. Using age-old technique in preparing this favorite snack of generations past, binan has molded itself to become the maverick of economic growth for the past decades.
What I wear is not the typical costume but more of a beacon that one can see its intricacy, bold fabric embedded with local and wooden appliqués symbolizing every binanense’s ingenuity and craftsmanship.
This costume will be a forever reminder that indeed in our beloved city, thus we believe: “ditoy buhay ang nakaraan, sumasalubong sa magandang bukas” a reflection of our respect to our forefathers and now celebrating diversity and modernity. A solid symbol of my youth’s aspiration to achieve the dream that is slowly making its way to reality.
