Man pulls gun on pastor during sermon in Pennsylvania

Chaos erupted at Jesus’ Dwelling Place Church in Pennsylvania when a gunman approached the pastor during his sermon and attempted to shoot. The gun failed to go off and the assailant was wrestled down by the deacon. NBC’s Emilie Ikeda reports for TODAY. Warning: The video is disturbing.

I guess God intervened here saving this one pastor, but didn't feel like intervening at First Baptist Church of Sutherland Springs, Texas where 26 people were killed, or the 9 killed at Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in South Carolina or the 11 killed at the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh, etc. Where was God during these church killings? Same thing just happened at my daughter’s high school. 15 yr old child has gun to the head of another student and it jammed. The student then kicked the arm of the 15 yr old and it went off. I have seen the video from a classroom. It is amazing these children 5 (all together) are alive, unharmed physically.

He can create 7 billion people, people chose to have war among themselves because they are sinful. God allows them to fight among themselves because they chose sin (death) rather than Jesus (life) whom he provided on the cross as an atonement for our sins so we can return to heaven with him because heaven has no sin and no human can go there since everybody sins and only Jesus can clean us up and prepare us for heaven. We chose to rebel, its not God’s fault. God is Good. Anything outside of God is evil. Humans chose to be outside of God when they sinned, the same as Lucifer.

You never know what can happen. I live in a rural area. We attend a church with about a usual attendance of about 150. We have we several current and retired police officers that are members. After the church shooting in Charleston, SC several years ago; we went to the deacons and elders and proposed a security detail. We post one armed man at the main entrance under the illusion that he is a greeter and one that patrols the parking area and other entry ways and exits. We also have a few armed men spread out through our congregation. This is exactly what we are defending against. We also have a short yearly presentation on what to do in case of an incident were to happen. Where we live the chances of something ever happening would be slim to none. But it could and we simply choose to be prepared in case it does. I am so glad this pastor and congregation were not injured. They did well. .

Adding something to the story to make it appear as a miraculous incident. If the gun jammed, he would've tried to unjam it by racking the slide repeatedly, removing the magazine, etc. He didn't do any of that, if he was using a revolver then it would make sense if he just kept it pointing at the target and kept pulling the trigger repeatedly. But the gun he was holding wasn't a revolver.

There is a lot of violence going on everywhere, shootings at schools, hospitals, shopping malls, nail salons, nightclubs, etc. “ Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.” 1 Peter 5:8. But if you have Jesus Christ in your heart, soul and mind, even if you are shot or killed you will still win. You will spend eternity with Jesus and Satan can’t do anything about that.

Jesus taught “ No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate one or love the other, or else he will be loyal to one but despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon ( money). Matthew 6: 24. So only a weak minded individual would conflate the preacher with Jesus Christ and because he didn’t become prosperous, he decides to shoot the preacher.
