On my volgcast, I have highlighted the missing people of color who are least covered by the media. We go missing at 41% more than white people and they shrug us off or don't cover our missing as much as our white counter parts because we are portrayed very differently in the media. We are cast as poor, druggies or dealing with drugs of some sort of street life. My cousin was a graduate of Howard, she was educated and beautiful. She has been missing since 2007. I pray that your son is found.

As a parent of an adult son, I know how this father feels not hearing from his son. Unfortunately my son who lives in Tx will disappear by not responding to any of my or family members calls or messages for months and sometimes even years. I have called the coroner's offices, police departments and hospitals in the surrounding areas of where he's known to reside because I don't ever know if he's dead or not. He doesn't have a reason for this type of behavior besides not wanting to hear the right thing. He eventually calls occasionally when he's in desperate need of something but the empty feeling of not knowing his well-being or where abouts is heart-rending. It's sad that I've grieved his loss so many times because I didn't have proof that he's still alive. As I type this comment on this post, I'm in another grieving cycle because it's been so long since I've heard from him. None of the coroner offices have a John Doe who fits his description, no one by his name has been arrested and no hospital admissions matching his description or name have turned up. So, I'll just have to wait and see. I truly hope this gentleman's son is found safe, a missing child or loved one is a heavy feeling that doesn't go away.

I actually have multiple friends whose kids got mad for whatever reason and walked away to never be seen again. They were not dead or kidnapped, just mad at family. One friend had her brother come back after 40 years. Parents had died and all, as if everyone would be celebrating and my friend said they all looked at him like why bother to come back now? No explanation so people are free to do whatever they want but you don’t have to be bothered with their choices. Strange…🧐

And that’s okay … the word says come from among them and sometimes that’s your own family. In fact the Lord said whatever you asked for in prayer in my name you will receive… I’ve had strangers treat me better than my own family… I come back to show my family I love them and im here for them . But they could never pour into me spiritually or give me tools in life to succeed. So you have go find your own way. It’s not always deep and dramatic.

My dad got covid and even though I knew how serious a diagnosis that was I just assumed he would be part of the majority of people who pull through. I wish I called him and told him I loved him. I sent him an I love you text and it remains on unread. His phone had died after he was hospitalized so he never had a chance to read it

Dad left his job drove 3hrs to sit and talk with his adult son, son only giving him bits and pieces of the situation but not the whole story. Dad now thinking of the woman who brought him into this world and cared for and raised him potentially being in harms way because of son’s actions and in the heat of the moment tells him to leave. He should have given his dad the number that texted him and told him what the problem was unless he was lying. He could be on drugs and owe someone some money. His dad said his son told him his phone was dying. The phone was obviously charged for the dad to be able to send texts all the way up until October 2020. One of those coworkers may know something.

The number was most likely a text app I highly doubt the person would have texted from the actual phone number… Text apps can be used free and disconnected within seconds then the number is gone. And untraceable

I got in an argument with my parents and haven't had contact with them in years. I'm in a different state now. Maybe the guy just doesn't see any reason to communicate with his father anymore. I mean the father doesn't even seem that distraught about the whole thing. If you weren't involved in your child's life enough to even know one contact that might know where they are, then your child isn't missing you in their life.
