Dude deserves the rest of his life. That is insanely dangerous! It was bound to happen that somebody was killed. You lead them to a home where they assume the person is armed and insane! And already killed and is planning on doing more. I get we have way too many police killings but this is setting it up so the swat team is already on major high alert. Imagine you coming out of your home to swat ordering you out. That man had no idea that one small move would make them believe he was reaching for a weapon. Why would he? All bad ....
@jodihouts60325 жыл бұрын
Lisa Locke There is a saying about assuming.....you really think it's ok to assume someone is a killer/criminal? Isn't that the crux of the problem with excessive force and shooting of unarmed citizens? Police assume this is true, but the kid suffocating in the van is a hoax? Assuming did more than making an ass out of them, they killed an innocent man based on assumptions of guilt.....which we're supposed to have laws protecting us from. What the kid did was bad but what the police did was the criminal action. We used to work hard to save hostages and innocents, now they're just collateral damage. Just an unfortunate "accident".

I've been hearing that his sentence has been extended to life in prison. I should look up if this is true, but this is why I am hearing this. If you haven't heard yet; after he was put into prison, he used a tablet to get back onto the internet and logged back into his Twitter account. he then made a message saying, "You should see how much swag I got in here" proclaiming himself to be a god, and that when he is released, the first thing he's going to do is Swat as many people as he can. he confessed that he felt powerful causing so much panic and fear with these Swattings. now that someone has died because of this, he now felt as if he was holding a gun to the heads of everyone he didn't like, no matter who they were or where they were. the next person to piss him off is going to be a dead man. Obviously, he was caught saying this as police knew of his account and were using it to gather evidence of his crimes when he logged in. he might as well have been standing on the roof of the prison and shouting it with a megaphone. this made his situation far worse. his long history of Swattings and bomb threats was bad enough but killing someone made him feel even more powerful and he is more than ready to do it again. I think this is why his sentence was extended. but again, I need to look it up if his life sentence is true. I know the Tweets he made are true. there are several videos about them you can look up right now. this guy is a serious danger to society. if released, he could do way worse than Swattings since he got a thrill out of killing someone.

This is an interesting news to me. If this happend in my country Japan, the guy who did a prank call and the cop who killed the victim would both go to Jail, because here cops are not allowed to shoot unless the criminal has an weapon and is about to attack them. A few years ago, there was a case where a guy had stabbed someone and later a cop arrived and the guy comes at him holding a knife and then the cop shot him in his legs to stop them and in the end he was arrested, but after that, a lot of people criticized the cop saying he shouldn't have shot him, using a gun is wrong. I remember even commentators saying that he should've stopped the criminal in other ways other than shooting, so if a cop shot and killed someone who was unarmed and just wandering around his room, they would definitely either go to jail or get fired. It's kinda surprising to me that they didn't do anything to the cop who shot the victim, I know that they had been told that he had guns but what can a man do against swat members with rifles and shields and stuff? I think they should've just told him to drop weapons and come out instead of shooting him right away.

@menotu0005 жыл бұрын
@@orlandof6496 This is why: Did you notice how far away the cops were? Did you also notice there was a bright light in the suspect's eyes? Even IF he had a gun (which he didn't), he would have been unable to aim, and take a shot before he was shot by the police. As to what actually happened, his arm moved, the cop that shot him (the only one incidentally, and not a SWAT member, just regular LEO) freaked instead of looking, watching, and verifying there actually was a threat. That is why the cop should be held accountable for their actions. Police officers cannot be on the job if they panic at the first sign of motion. That is how situations like this happen. topkinginer Exactly, nothing! He even sued the city as he felt he was mistreated by his hierarchy after his action. Can you believe this?
@gavinthompson92454 жыл бұрын
Well Cops are taught to react at certain situations. That's why when you are pulled over you have your hands on the steering wheel and ALWAYS ask permission to do anything. In this case the weasel getting 20 years in jail could've called in something serious that required Cops to be on their guard. The victim could've made a wrong move and the Cops definitely would've saw it as a threat. Do I think the Cop needs to be fired? No. Does he need his payment lowered? No. They probably should just put him on leave and return him at a later date.
@Igor_ogi4 жыл бұрын
TheRealTsunami I wonder if u would be so understanding if the cop in question shot someone close to u, someone unarmed with their arms up. I sure hope u’d use better grammar to justify the unjustifiable. N for the record, wearing the uniform does not excuse any action u might take nor any behavior u might have, whatever the circumstances. There are still rules to follow for ALL OF US.
@gavinthompson92454 жыл бұрын
@@Igor_ogi When you call somone out on grammar on the internet, it really just shows that you don't have a strong argument so you instead decide to attack the person instead. And for the actual argument that you did give. If a Cop shot someone unarmed with their hands up. Yes I would get mad, but my original reply was over a cop shooting someone from moving even after being told to keep their hands up or in sight. P.S. Ironic how you call me out for my grammar yet you use words like "U'd and N" instead of the actual words that belong there. Abbreviations in an argument really doesn't help get your case across especially after calling someone out on their grammar.
@Igor_ogi4 жыл бұрын
TheRealTsunami The difference btw u n me is that I know I’m using abbreviations, abbreviations commonly used n accepted on the Internet so ur argument is just a shallow attempt at getting back at me but it failed. U using bad grammar just shows ur limited knowledge of the English language. Also, the grammar comment came in between three very valid arguments, u even replied to one of them n chose to ignore or couldn’t come up with new counter arguments (I’m guessing the latter is true) to the other two, so if u have to talk back please don’t do it by playing dumb, it destroys the little credibility u have. N only somebody who routinely uses bad grammar would pretend that raising the issue is a weak argument.

@@SiNKarnage Then hes an idiot and should be charged with negligent homicide. You don't go gunsn blazing off ONE testimony and zero evidence. If a boat instructor does not take the proper protocol and sinks his ship, or a doctor uses the wrong medicine they are charged with manslaughter. Why should it be different here?
@jhonklan37944 жыл бұрын
@David hansen Lets say a doctor gets a call that his patient needs 500g of morphine. So the doctor injects 500g morphine into his patient but as it turns out, the morphine is actually 500g of Methamphetamine, thereby killing his patient. I mean, the action of injecting is basically the same but he just used meth instead of morphine right? Just as the doctor in this case would get charged with negligent homicide for not taking the many precautions already prescribed to prevent such a scenario from happening, a policeman should be charged if they dont take the necessary precautions. When you're actions have fatal consequences, they have to be carefully metered. Now, this police man had a whole squad with him and no reason to believe the man had a gun other than a single testimony. Thus, he should have used restraint by talking and reasoning with the dude. Look at the videos of school shooters being arresting, they are fully armed and have definitively killed people, yet the officers first calmly reason to deescalate the situation. If not that, then tasing the dude or even physically subduing him considering he has like 15 men with him.

The conduct of the officer in shooting the man is obviously very questionable and open to criticism. However, the entire idea of responding to these calls is not as outlandish. What happens in the event where police choose not to respond properly to a call because they think it's a prank, only for it to be a fully real situation? Ultimately it is better to play it safe and to respond to all of these incidents than to be sorry and pay for it in the form of nonexistent response to actual danger.
