What do you mean you dont have anyone arrested.....you know the house it came from

They think they know the direction it came from. In a rural area, there may be several or even many possible properties in that direction. Handgun rounds can travel more than a half mile and rifle rounds can travel a mile. That means the rounds can come from several properties away. On the other hand, with large properties there could be trespassers and/or poachers on the land without the land owners knowledge or permission. Those are the reasons the sheriff said they will be doing an investigation.

​@BryanTorok wow, I didn't know bullets could go more than 20ft thanks . Did you know that bullets go in a straight line, yes wind can affect it , but it wont make it do a 90 degree turn. So they know where the victim was at when he got shot and they know where the bullet hit the ground ....you make a straight line from these 2 locations and just like magic , you now know what house that bullet came from. You'll also find everything you need at that house to prosecute.
