I'm finally sleeping in a hot tent with a wood stove. I've been waiting for months to have a hot tent experience and I am so glad the time is now. This is an awesome adventure. Starts off stinky, then it ends up wet, but all in all a perfect trip!

Nothing like the sound of rain on a hot tent. Gorgeous scenery! One gentle suggestion, Jay - a one-gallon ziplock bag with one set of dry socks, one set of clean undies, bottom of the pack. And a pair of camp moccasins for when the boots need to dry. Man, have I ever been there, done that! Stepping in primeval poo - done that too. I don't know where it comes from either...

Really enjoyed when you talked about how you've changed from preferring summer to now fall and winter. Your personal stories about not having a snowmobile (you're old enough to still call it that), but enjoying your friends' machines brought back memories of growing up in MI. I enjoyed summer, because it meant going to the lake. But my whole life I really loved the snow. Mom says when I was a child, she worried about me playing outside, but she'd look out the window and I'd still be happily playing in it. So, yeah, I guess I've always been a winter guy. I live in a place now that doesn't get much snow, so I miss it. I get my winter "fix" by watching your channel.

Hello Jay. Love watching your videos. We go hunting every fall in the mountains in Alberta and we stay in outfitter tents with wood stoves. I love that little stove you have but I did notice that the pipes fit into each other the opposite of what they should The flanged part should be facing up and the non flanged part should go into it that way So when you have creosote from the wood and it leaks down it goes straight back into the stove and not leak at your flanged joints and down your pipe on the outside and smoke and stink up the tent Just a little thing I’ve learned from many years of staying in tents with a wood stove. Keep up the great videos 👍🏼

Lovely place to camp. I started with a tent similar to yours. I saved my money and bought a large box pop up. We loved it and my niece, daughter and Mom. Plus my Siamese cat! I would tell her do you want to go camping, she would run to get into her kennel. I liked the camp grounds with our power, etc. It was quieter. The stove you have looks like a game changer, keep you toasty warm. I enjoy your video. Thanks for taking us to explore your part of the world. Be safe

Jay, one of your videos came across my suggested on KZbin when you just started out all those years ago. You were one, if not the first channel I had ever subscribed to. And you were the first channel I ever left a comment on. And I still almost never comment on any videos, mainly just yours. Havent missed a single video yet. You mentioned in this video about not being the "perfect outdoorsman." That's what actually made me click subscribe way back when. You were an everyday man. You were doing this on your time off. Figuring it all out as you kept going out to your original canvas tent. You took the leap and went out and did something you'd been wanting to. It was refreshing to find an outdoor/camping/DIY channel that wasn't trying too hard or was taking themselves too seriously. It's been a journey, Jay. Your skills and knowledge have grown and grown over the years. Impressive to say the least. Excited to see the cold weather rolling in up there. More canvas tent videos are on the horizon!! I'm here for it.
