Jay, from a Scottish brother to a Canadian brother, you help a lot of us remember that life is fairly simple and enjoyable if you find the thing or things that make you smile and feel at one with the world around us. Every video I have watched over the past 3 or4 yrs gives me an enormous sense of peace and contentment and for that I thank you my friend.

I just adore watching these videos when it's cold out. Something about watching you next to a wood stove cooking up a hot meal or making a hot drink just makes me feel cozy inside. It's brilliant Jay. Can't wait to do it all winter long.

Man, even the trees were shivering! BRRRRR!!! I'm glad your snowmobile started. You should probably get a new battery, though, just in case. I love that hot tent! I'd get one myself, but honestly, there's no use for it where I live. :( It very rarely even gets below freezing here. Maybe one night a winter, it'll get down to 12 degrees F. But only for one night. And it never snows. So, that lovely RBM tent would be way overkill. Which is too bad!!

Hi Jay, your comment rang true to my younger self...when you talked about the cold and wind and the only thing between you and basically freezing to death is the tent and the wood stove. Concurring mother nature and all she has to offer and not only surviving but thriving in an extreme and challenging environment brings such a sense of accomplishment. I remember relishing brutal cold and the challenges it creates. I love watching you winter videos. And to coin someone else's phrase, I'll keep watching and "I'll be back, really soon"

That gap between the top of your socks and the bottom of your long johns is called the "Pneumonia Gap", according to an old friend of mine. As a young SoCal gal living in the PNW, I used to be a "double-socker" in that I would wear 2 pairs of socks. One pair under my long johns and one pair over. After 40 years of living in the PNW, I no longer double sock and rarely wear long johns any more, but after moving to north Idaho 10 years ago, I had to re-aclimatize myself to the much colder, snowier winters it seems we get a heavy cold snap at least 1x every winter and I'm glad I still have thermal long johns, even more glad that I still fit into them, hahaha!

Glad she started Jay. Those tents are next level. Love them. I put a baffle in the first piece of stove pipe and by using the baffle and the air intake I’ve increased burn time and efficiency not that the Caminus stoves aren’t super efficient to start with. Your sleeping bag set up reminds me of the good old Woods Five Star sleeping bags. Looking forward to the next one ud.

Hey Jay, you mentioned a new tent is on it’s way to replace the one a bear torn up. Would it be helpful for you to build a shed, next to your tent, use what you can of the old torn tent to cover it and park your snowmobile in it? Even put a small stove in it, like the one you use when camping. That way when you know you are leaving the next day, put a little fire in it to keep the snowmobile warm. Maybe even store wood in it. I was just thinking and wondering.😁😁 Loved this camping trip. Keep up the great work!
