Rowan Atkinson definitely makes this show so much better than its own inevitable assumption. However, as a house-sitter myself, the show resonates SO MUCH more. The moment he breaks the priceless statue in the first episode, I felt that sooooo goddamn hard. I haven’t broken anything like that myself, but in the job, you yourself imagine these tragedies at a constant basis. It really is an easy job, I’m not gonna bullshit any of you. But MAAAAN can it so easily go soooo wrong at any tiny moment...

@@pawelzabicki7785 well I’m assuming in places like the states and UK there’s probably a few companies like the one in this show that you can apply to, and most likely they just do a background check on you before hiring. I myself started doing it independently as a side-gig for extra money by offering to take care of a client’s house who I sometimes cook for. Eventually they started telling their friends and word-of-mouth kinda spread among the upper-middle-class communities here that I was trust worthy lol. So I get a nice lil house/pet-sitting gig almost monthly now. Easy work for fairly good money, and pretty fun too :)

To be fair: Trevor was too soft hearted to roast the Bee alive in the oven, and the Bee did actively seek him out, luring him into setting off the alarm, among other capers. Ironically the conflict happens because *both* Trevor and the Bee don't know when to call it quits; they're too alike XD

I love Rowan Atkinson and his comedy. His facial expressions, word pronunciations, and overall quirky movements is one of a kind. Definitely today's modern Charlie Chaplain. Too funny of a guy not to love and yet he's a very intelligent person in actuality.

I really enjoyed it. I knew what I was expecting, its silly and quirky. But I loved it. Made me laugh, especially the part when the dog is unconscious and tries to wake it up. Rowan Atkinson is a legend and so happy he is still doing this sort of comedy. Plus reminded me so much of Mouse-Hunt.

Found this series pretty funny, like a lot of Atkinsons stuff, he is a modern day master of physical comedy. I think there was another missed joke with the piano aside from the "B-flat" one you came up with, I was expecting him to put "Flight of the Bumblebee" on the piano during that scene.

I was of the same opinion, but after putting more thought into it, I believe this was the right choice. each episode has its own event/story (regardless of tiny they are). stitching it up wouldn't harmonize well with that, as we would see each event chained to one another, which could potentially feel more repetitive. might be just shooting in the dark as well lol, but I think this could be a potential explanation for their choice to opt for a show rather than a movie

The Divorce is important as theirs a bit where shes worried he will get in trouble with the law again and had prevous incidents of destruction of property due behavoir like this, So it explaines not only why he would be so obsessed over the bee as its part of his character but also what caused the divorce, Its basicly a character flaw he has but the problem is at the end by him still trying to kill the bee it shows he hasnt developed as a character

Spoiler: My only slight niggle, is that the bad guy being a fraudster takes away from some of the re-watchability. If you know now it doesn't matter that he's destroying the house and fake valuables, it's not quite as funny as if it really WAS valuable and a disaster. But it's still a very good show and re watchable.

I didn’t personally enjoy it, tbh. I love Rowan Atkinson (Mr. Bean destroys my sides to this day), but this show felt just a touch too close to reality, so it was just frustrating. I feel like the reason Mr. Bean works so well for me is because he is both dumb AND completely shameless. Trevor felt both too relatable and too idiotic for me to enjoy watching him destroy the house over and over again, knowing what was at stake for him. With Bean, the stakes are usually just “someone might see him doing something dumb in public”, which has always made it easier for me to take the show less seriously. And anything to do with the dog getting poisoned/hurt just felt bad to me, even though I know it’s not real 😅 There were some parts that I enjoyed, but overall, not really my thing. Glad a lot of people are loving this series though!

The first few episodes of the series was good. However it then departs being creatively funny (like mr bean & Johnny English) and starts being stupidly repetitive. The bee consistently surviving and the whole insurance scam twist just wasn’t justified for me.

I personally didn't like the show very much, I was really hoping to find a new refreshing and funny show but I found instead was more like a very predictable drama show. You really do feel sorry for the house owners (it could have been introduced way sooner that they are scammers so you side with house sitter more). I didn't even fully finish it cause it was so hard for me to watch. But I wanted to know how it ends so I watched the last episode. I happy for those who find it entertaining, but that show is a no for me sorry

The thing that bothered me the most personally was the fact that (in my opinion) the house owners are incredibly dumb. They keep SO many fragile and “priceless” pieces of artwork out IN THE OPEN that (as any dog owner will tell you) the dog WILL get into at some point. Either don’t own a dog or put your priceless artwork somewhere safe smh I know that if I turned my brain off during the show I’d probably be able to enjoy it, but I work with dogs constantly, so that really got on my nerves. Animals getting hurt doesn’t make me laugh either, even if I know it’s fake :/

This review has encouraged me to actually give this tv show a go. As a big Rowan Atkinson fan, I was quite apprehensive about watching this, as I wasn't sure about the quality of the premise/plot/writing etc, even though I knew that the performance by Rowan would've been great, regardless. I don't understand. Rowan Atkinson said himself he was tired to play Mr. Bean, and wouldn't have continue to play this character. Then if you watch his GQ Interview, he explains why he didn't liked Mr. Bean as a person and this character (Trevor) was similar to him in some ways but nicer, so generally speaking the show might be very similar but the characters aren't

@@Footy5Official Obi-Wan's a good show, granted, but Netflix still has Stranger Things, Cuphead, Green Eggs & Ham and plenty of other shows that are probably never gonna get a physical release so fuck it, I'm gonna stay subscribed to Netflix for good. Besides, how else am I gonna watch Guillermo Del Toro's new Pinocchio movie or Henry Selick's Wendell & Wild or Cartoon Saloon's My Father's Dragon without pirating them like a jackass?

Me and my parents are Rowan Atkinson fans as well. We decided to binge the whole thing just last night. Honestly, it was just stupid imo. My parents kinda lost interests from times, especially from all the "You could've just (insert something) but you didnt" times, but there were still some funny moments... Except for Trevor taking parts off of the Jaguar. We thought that that was just plain stupid. But the ritual, the shower, and the "WhErE aRe You?? iM GoNnA kiLl YoU" part with Trevor waving the plunger around and the thieves hiding around made me wheeze, also Trevor becoming so desperate that he burnt down the whole house. That was hilarious for me idek why. The show reminds of that old indie game that never really took off that was basically about killing pesky insects in the house. I remember watching a gameplay of it and by the end of the level, the whole house was also burnt down into a crisp. It was hilarious lmao

It's definitely a ridiculous, over the top, illogical and daft series, though with a series called Man vs Bee I switched my brain off when I went in and had a fun time! A shame you didn't enjoy it, but good stuff for giving it a chance and I hope you and your parents enjoy whatever you watch next Trademark! - Connor

I didn't really like it. We have seen this a thousand times already and Trvor is just frsutratingly stupid. Its not like Mr. Bean, who gets into relatable situations and deals with them in the most selfish way possible, making it even more funny when it bites him in the ass later. Trevor is a guy whom you want to see succeed, but he's just too stupid to live. At some point I wondered why he was so obsessed with the Bee in the first place and his ex wife mentiones at some point that this is not the first time something like this is happening. So I thought it would have been a nice twist if the Bee was imaginary, that he fealt guilty for failing his marriage and is therefore self sabotaging any chance it gets. But no, the show was just very stupid and unfunny.

Are you paid by netflix or smth? Why do you like onky positive comments, and the ones that critisize the show are hard to find? Anyway, the series is extremely boring, and it circulates around one joke: expensive things are being destroyed. Sorry, it is not even 1% as funny as any of Mr. Bean episode. That's a shame that netflix created such boring and unfunny series with such a great actor. What a waste of talent

Sorry I managed to watch about 20mins but found it irritating, but then I actually hated Mr bean.. Not that I dislike Rowan he can be funny, and I liked him in Maigret and Black Adder. Maybe I just don't like slapstick 🤪
