When Daniel has a problem with his machine that delays a train, he gets fined. When the quarry has a problem with their machine nothing happens? Doesn't seem fair to me.
@dnzry22183 жыл бұрын
I agree, it has happened a few times already where the trains got cancelled, I doubt Daniel gets any refunds for that
@TheByard3 жыл бұрын
It depends how Daniel signs the contract. We had signed contracts for the tunnel muck away on the construction of the Victoria Line, if the haulage contractor did not keep up he got charged for any owner drivers we employed plus a percentage for overheads. If we had a loader breakdown and delayed him they charged, but that never happened as we had back up and could hire a loader.
@kl-vt5ko3 жыл бұрын
I don't think the fine is for delaying the train, i think the fine was for sending a train back that still has material in it. It doesn't seem fair but it seems to be the way it is.
@taichoubob57353 жыл бұрын
Yeah, it's just as unfair as the dentists, if you come even 5min late they charge you fully and cancel the appointment, but if they are late and you are waiting in the room for 20 min, nothing happens you just get an apology. the world is unfair.
@1001ewaste3 жыл бұрын
It's all contracts, they'll have a lower cost per tonne as Ashville will have rationalised they can 'insure' that risk themselves by maintaining a stockpile in the yard. You could pay a much higher cost per tonne e.g. as Network Rail or their contractors do when organising engineering work because the cost of a failed or missed delivery into an Engineering Possession far outweighs the extra paid. So if there is an issue things get shuffled and Ashville get a cancellation and Network Rail get their delivery. Without knowing the contracts we can't make much of an informed comment, is the FOC and quarry contracted separately or is it one end to end deal via an intermediary. Regarding 'fair' once your in the real world there is no great arbiter of fairness.
@-Cloudz-3 жыл бұрын

Daniel, one of these episodes can you please explain how the arrangement with the trains works? I'd have got noel to make me a frame for the top out of 50mm x 50mm metal box section and bolted it through the wall as per wooden frame and also have the metal frame getting as much hidden under support from the actual "a" part of the structure.

As long as your foundation is strong enough to cope, and you can still get out to work every morning, and the sewers don't get overwhelmed, and the gas supply is adequate and so on ....
