Now I see why EU trucks are smaller... Jesus those are some tight roads
@steve577220 сағат бұрын
Our place have us take all round pictures of the vehicles at the start and end of a shift. Some people dont like it, but stuff does get looked after better because of it. Yeah, accidents can happen to anyone, but it helps show who theyre happening to the most and whos having a bit of pride and care in what they do. The boss has his own truck, its a thing of beauty and he doesn't use it a lot. Yeah, its an extravagance, but he can afford it and hed rather have it than a supercar.

I relate! Employees trashing shit. But spending cash to make your trucks stand out with cool artwork, lights, rims etc is worth tons of business too you?!?publicity, retro eco vibe, individuality but certainly seen, discussed and memorable 🚐

Love the videos and I have a question. Why do British Lorries "dump trucks" have short walls on the dump bed vs. dump trucks in other parts of the world have high-walled, deep dump beds?

Give the good loyal drivers good wagons and a bonus package and faze out the shit ones until all drivers are a1 (enjoy their job, like,clean and respect their lorries) as it earns theirs and your incomes!

You tell your drivers Daniel, ANY damage caused to the trucks on their watch, unless caused by someone else on the road is their responsibility. I'm not saying charge them for mirrors etc... YET but each driver needs to check their lorry at the start of their shift and sign to say they are taking it in good repair and then they need to check at the end too. ANY damage needs documenting in the office under the drivers name. Obviously if theres a mirror smashed off every week, you need to ask yourself if he is a good enough driver and other things too. They will need time with an instructor at their expense, or they start paying for damages themselves. /G x

When the UK had a "fuel crisis" in recently, the public were up in arms over the treatment of HGV drivers - the government made many platitudes towards the sector. Yet once the public got bored and left, the concern left with them. SMH

20+ years, 2 million miles never damaged anything. Backing into a costumers lot a car squeezed through causing me to jam the brakes and when I tried to continue the truck lurched forward out of the bind and hit a car in front of me. Got fired and had a hard time finding a job with that fresh on my record. People truly don’t understand the pressure we face.

And drivers wonder why they work for big hauliers who put them in the most basic-spec DAF with plastic dash boards, no AC, no Bluetooth, seats with no lumbar support etc... it's because every penny they spend on making the lorries nicer is just another penny they've lost! It sucks but I understand why

As a driver I can say that when I started driving I did it in O’Donovan company in Markfield Road then I moved to Alperton depot. I would say that Michael it used to check on us every week how the lorry looks like and if it wasn’t clean in his eyes he would complain and even warned you about it but in a polite way… Because of Michael and the entire O’Donovan company I am a spotless driver today! The way they have educated me. I really miss Michael and his strong support for Tottenham FC😂😂

I used to work for a food delivery company. We used have clean the inside and outside of the 🚚 lorry after the end of each shift. The senior driver and/or supervisor would check the lorries on a daily basis.

I thought about getting my HGV licence but then worked security for an over night HGV parking area, i talked to so many drivers, it put me off doing it, its really not worth the hassle way too many regulations, cost and hassle for not enough pay, why anybody would want to do it is beyond me.
