Man who needs heart transplant and his wife are overwhelmed with Secret Santa gift

We lost our son in May in a car accident, he would have been 26 in October. He had chosen to donate his organs and somewhere in the world is his heart, in a person like this man - a husband and father. This both gives me great hope and absolutely destroys me.

How wonderful it is that your son's heart, and all he felt, almost 26yrs worth of emotions, are swimming around still, secure in another humans chest. There was someone a father who was on his bicycle and was riding his bike through a few countries to meet with a person that has his daughters heart, just to put his ear on his chest to hear the heartbeat of his daughter again. You should do something like that too.

I know the pain. My only sister lost both of her son's eight years apart. Her only children. The oldest died at 14 years old in a quad accident and eight years later her youngest, a Marine, died in a motorcycle accident at 19 years old. He was on his way home on leave before he deployed to Afghanistan. I don't know how my Sister survived those tragedies. May God surround you with His Love, and know that your Son lives on in Heaven, but also on Earth, as his heart is still beating and has saved a life. My heart is aching for you.

I don’t think I’ve seen such a beautiful & alert baby boy in a long time, completely aware of his surroundings, it’s almost like he’s a little older soul intently listening & absorbing to what’s going on, & that smile just lights up his face - he really is precious. So much love to this family. Thank you secret Santa for helping.. it means they can put money away for when he does get that heart, & HE WILL. They won’t have to fret when the time comes about paying their rent, buying groceries or paying for petrol / gas because they’ll have it by them. Xxx

Another snotty mess from me! I never even knew that someone might have to go through a heart transplant twice (other than of it doesn't take soon after transplant.) I know what this family is going thru. My husband had a heart transplant in 2013 too. His also failed. He got his second heart in 2020 during the pandemic. Everything will be ok. So often the comments are about how these gifts ease burdens and they do but sometimes the underlying burden of stress is what this helps so much. When you’re sick or dealing with financial issues things just seem to compound and the stress can exacerbate or create more medical issues. This allows the recipients to focus where they need to. I lost my little boy in 1996. When he passed I donated his kidneys and his liver. Sadly his heart was unable to be used due to time constraints. I pray every day that the recients of his organs are doing well to this day. In my state we were not allowed to meet the recipients when I donated his organs.
