If you think you should give up after seeing this, I just dont understand that defeatist way of thinking. How can you see a man like this persevere and succeed against all odds and wonder if you should quit? I can only imagine how he felt seeing people with perfectly functioning, dextrous arms and fingers when he had no arms. He would probably envy your potential, and to see you not want to strive utilize it because of the fear of not succeeding is the epitome of modern society.
@holysmokes44935 жыл бұрын
@@bjordsvennson2726 Well, sometimes you get to a point in your playing/practice when life makes you ask whether the guitarist's journey's worth it or not. Maybe you don't really like the guitar as much as you thought you did and it was just a phase or you did it for chicks or you just like the music or whatever. Sometimes, there's nothing wrong with stopping. Sometimes, not everyone who starts guitar ends up being a guitarist. That's okay in my book. Hats off the man in the vid either way and hats off to you for your fiery passion. I'm still strumming on brother, thanks in part to you. Merry Christmas.

When it's the only thing you can use, It becomes a cinch. For example how the majority of people write with their right hand, they become so accustomed to that. And how this man plays guitar with his feet, because that's how he's accustomed to. As you we are used to playing such instruments with our hands. It's just all about how used to certain parts of our body we are. :D

I had the privilege of seeing this amazing human being play live in Northern California back in high school. I had been playing guitar for 4 years by then and expected him to play with a bunch of inarticulate muted sounds and garbled chords. His playing was absolutely pristine and skillfully executed. Just awe inspiring - the power of God at work in the human will to overcome any obstacle.

@@freebirdforever2674 no, the merit belongs to this guy alone. Crediting a fairy tale character for what someone conquered with astonishing amounts of hardship and dedication is one of religion's most annoying habits.
@freebirdforever26745 жыл бұрын
NewSkin It’s got nothing to do with religion. The spirit in this man to defy the odds of the condition he was given is nothing short of miraculous. The willpower, the perseverance, and the unspeakable skill that he developed is something that dwarfs most humans afflicted with far less. What he has accomplished is transcendent - and transcendence is of divine origin. It’s the living spirit that dwells within him that drove him to accomplish what he did - and that comes from the Creator. PS I share your annoyance at religion, and if you read the Bible, so does God. EDIT - He also hates worship of fairytale characters. It’s His First Commandment. But that’s for another post somewhere.

Truly it is God, though the unknowing below here say it is not. “Please, Lord,” Moses replied, “I have never been eloquent, neither in the past nor since You have spoken to Your servant, for I am slow of speech and tongue.” 11And the LORD said to him, “Who gave man his mouth? Or who makes him mute or deaf, sighted or blind? Is it not I, the LORD? 12Now, go! I will help you as you speak, and I will teach you what to say" - Exodus 4: 10-12. He enabled Moses tremendously, and no longer had Aaron speaking on his behalf. He addressed the people with so much power, people feared him. God created them disabled physically in order to enable them in their disability and He created them able physically and disabled them in their ability. He did all this so that those who have spiritual eyes would see, marvel and give glory to the Lord. Those who claim to see yet not seeing would see carnally, to their condemnation.
