Oh gosh I love the videos!!! My aunt always taught me to add a pudding mix, use milk instead of water and add 3 extra eggs so total of 5 to the box mix to make it way more moist and I tell you what that’s my favorite way to make box cake mix!

Mona Shaq it makes the cake more moist and I’d say a richer flavor. I wouldn’t say like dense but does add some more weight to it without making it a brick. I think buttermilk would work ok with it I don’t see why not.

I add heavy whipping cream to my batter, brown butter instead of oil and I add a pudding mix. Sooooo moist and delicious 🤤

I like the cherries and rock candy....the element of red make the total effect even if it is over the top (which is the point of a happy desert)…...I watch at least four of you videos every day; it leaves me very happy. I made this cake today (I have not ever tried anything like this....a first with a pastry tube too, I used an offset desert server and bread knife to smooth the frosting....It is not pretty at all...but you make it seem simple (it was not you really are a master) I will eat it tomorrow for my 60th birthday.....keep baking please....

When I use box cake mix, I add milk in place of the water, melted butter in place of the oil and an extra egg when doing most box mixes. If using a white cake I do the cream cheese or mascarpone cheese in it. Makes a helluva difference. And I wouldn’t call it “cheating”, I’d call it being economical with time :)

Yeah. Per box mix: 1 sm. box instant pudding. 2 sticks melted butter. 4 eggs. Milk not water. Never heard of this cream cheese trick. But I'll try it next time.
